    Curious… 15 times 440W is indeed 6.6kW. But attaching an 5kW inverter makes this a max 5kW system, doesn't it? Shouldn't you therefor sell this as a 5kW system?

      The industry goes by the panel size. The federal rebates attached (and included) also related to the panel size.

      This stops someone selling 1kw of panels with a 5kw inverter as a 5kw system.

      Typically allowed a ratio of 133% greater than inverter kw

      From an operational point of view, the other thing is you often don't get near the max 6.6kw rating either. I have a system specced as above and it only clips the inverter max 5kw for a few hrs in the middle of the day during the summer months. In winter it often doesn't output over 4kw and on a rainly day like today in Sydney it's been hovering around 1kw

      For most residential properties, you are not allowed to export more than 5 kW to the grid, hence the 5kw inverter. It can be possible to get limit exceptions but unlikely in suburban areas due to existing solar installations.

          Yep we offer batteries, there are various brands and battery sizes available. Comes down to your needs and current solar system.

          We need to do a detailed review of what your system is producing and how much power is left over and being fed back to the grid to ensure that you have an appropriate sized battery installed.

          Further to this the financial payback on batteries isn't great atm so we really do need to have a chat and see your situation to advise products and pricing.

    These guys were great to deal with, they managed to install a 6.6kwh system on our 3 bedroom unit with old terracotta tiles, which can't have been an easy job

    Even factoring in the surcharge for terracotta tiles and optimizers, they were still $1200 under the other quotes.

      The Sungrow 5kW Hybrid unit is an additional $1,000 roughly.

      Hybrid inverters are used to easy plug and play batteries directly into the inverter, this can be a great solution sometimes and other times AC coupling works better.

      With hybrid inverters and batteries it comes down to why a hybrid is needed on site and based on your needs we can tailor a system best suited to you.
