Show your support …. by gifting … Twitch subscriptions … will earn you … a reward.
So much wrong with that concept.

Agreed. However, this doesn’t require you to subscribe to anyone, just watch. I know this because I’ve already done the first week (by setting quality to 160p and putting it in the corner somewhere lol)

      • I did this a few years ago with Rainbow Six Siege drops. Left a 160p window open on my file server for approx 3 weeks (by the end of the event) and had tons of drops to open at the end.

6 hours each week to get all the drops is a bit much.

Does anyone actually watch these or do they just put it on mute in the background while playing the game themselves and avoiding all the spoilers?

    • just left em on while i slept myself

    • I think the window needs to be actively focused for it to count, so I just left it running whenever I left my computer to have dinner or so other stuff.

      • +2

There’s actually a counter which tells you what percent of the drop you’ve completed while you’re playing the twitch stream.
I had it on last night with mute and playing Diablo 4. No issues running in the background on PC. The stream stops if you’re running it in the background on mobile though.

        • Trick is to have it on (desktop browser), but mute the tab, not the volume of the video. From past experience, muting the volume of the video meant it didn't count, but muting the browser tab gets the rewards.

Do you need the game to get the rewards? I'm waiting for it go to on sale, even 50% off ($50) is too expensive I just started playing path of Exile for free

    • +2

one can only wish, don't think we going to see much of a discount on this one for about a year or so…

what we are likely to see is more $$$ in the shop and shitty posts like this to promote useless shit for useless visuals.
gaming is just not the same. :(

Geez, life got you down mate? Cheer up.

      • +1

if it's useless visuals to you then you may simply ignore it. The game is not P2W, yet.

    • +2

you dont need the game to earn the rewards

  • Is there a way to tell you how much you've watched towards the goal?

Also I'm playing it and just remoted into work, does it still count? Just in the background.

    • +2

      https://www.twitch.tv/drops/inventory

it will show how long you have watched by percentage eg.30% of 3 hours.

      • Thank you for this!

    • click on the top right corner circle to bring up like a menu for your profile and it will have a bar/status with % on the drop

  • +4

Its a smart way to artificially inflate viewer numbers for your games with afk people farming drops.

  • -4

Nah I'd prefer spending actual 6hrs just playing the damn game. Even if leaving my phone on running to see these Twitch streamings does not justify it for me.

    • +1

      Thanks for sharing…

  • +2

    Btw you should reword it.
It’s actually 3 hours for the first set of weekly drops and 3 hours for the second drop.
Not 3 hours for the first then another 6 hours for the second drop.
Drops doesn’t need to be watched continuously and doesn’t have to be the same channel.

    • Thanks I've edited to hopefully be clearer.

  • so how does it track how much you watch to getting a drop? is there a code or do you have to put through your battlenet id to twitch?

  • Where can I find the items after I've claimed it?

    • It’s in the wardrobe while in game town.
