  • Low stock I believe?

Not an endorsement, but I see the Mercusys MS108GP (8-port Gigabit with 7 PoE+ ports, 65W total PoE budget) is around $60 from a few shops, eg https://cplonline.com.au/networking/switches/tp-link-ms108gp…

Depending on your total power requirements, it could be a cheaper/smaller option.

  • This looks like a really good product for poe security camera set-up. I paid a little over this price for a 100mbit link 96w model so this is obviously a better deal.

    • Using it for this use case

I am running 4 PoE cameras, 3 entertainment devices, with the other slot used for backhaul to my router, and so far I haven't had any issues whatsoever.

      Would definitely recommend.

(Correction: I have the PE version, which is 4 port POE+)

Nice switch. You can also find the TL-SG108PE for $99 on Amazon. It is a smaller base unit (but a pretty chunky power brick) and only supports PoE on 4 ports (with a lower overall power budget), but has VLAN and other ‘smart’ switch capabilities if you are looking for those.

Can someone recommend a switch just for POE camera use?

  • Why is this so big? It looks 40 years old this thing.

Size is good for a rack mount

Power supply is internal. I have the TL-SG1008P, which only does 4 PoE ports and has an external power adapter. Solid product.

  • Dang, no stock in TAS anywhere. This would've been ideal for me so I could replace the injectors currently powering the WAPs.

  • Good price. Only last week the best price I could find for something similar was $97 for the apparently inferior TL-SG108PE with only 4 POE+ ports, except the SG108PE supports VLAN and this doesn’t.

  • In addition to PoE cameras, with 126 watts you've got some overhead to run 2 or 3 Unifi AP6 Pros, which are rated at 13 watts maximum and IEEE 802.3af.

  • I wish you could get a 2.5G PoE+ switch at this price.

Same price on Amazon - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07R48S6MB?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_…

I'm using this to run 7 POE camera's to Surveillance Station and has been great, no power drop outs on 30m+ cable runs

I dont see a price at all? Is it available on amazon?

      • Strange, I bought one Friday for $97 from that link

    • I don't see it for $97

  • I called a VIC officeworks, have been told there is no stock in the whole of the state.

  • Is it ever necessary to have all ports PoE? Doesn't one of the ports have to connect to the rest of your network (a router or another switch)?

    • Good use case is for IP phones, security cameras etc.

    • Some will have a couple of uplink ports (9/10), not this one but it will know it doesn't need to power when using one as uplink.

anyone found any good deals on a 16port version?

  • Good switch. Been using this for IP phones no probs. Sadly OOS online..
