Looks like Medibank has upped their promotional offers, I think this one is decent. For example: if you use 25,000 Live Better Points to redeem $200 Premium Payment, you could essentially get at least 10 to 12 weeks for free in total depends on your cover.

      My personal data already got stolen when I was with Medibank 4 years ago, so it’s doesn’t matter to me anymore if I sign up with them again as long as I use the same details.

    You'd have to assume any company that's had a data breach is probably going to be more secure going forward than most of their competition though.
    They'd be putting more effort/money into making sure it never happens again than competition who potentially doesn't realise how vulnerable they potentially are.
    I could be wrong.

      I know OP will be negged for sounding naive but so far this is what we're seeing from big, public brands. The fines are much higher now, but most companies are more sensitive to the public relations and litigation mess (aside from the cost, it's a massive distraction).

      Just don't talk to Toll Group, they didn't figure that one out…

    Yep, we were bit by the breach. Multiple times: Optus, Latitude, … (sigh). Likely more coming.

    One other benefit not mentioned above: 10,000 pts gets you $115 off a remedial massage. It was the best points-for-$ value we found. When they do the initial claim HiCAPS transaction, your $115 discount comes off it first, then your coverage (e.g. 60% of the gap), then you pay the reminder. Ours were under $115 so free massage.

    It's pretty smooth. To claim the reward:
    1. "buy" the reward in Live Better
    2. Get a massage
    3. Pay via HiCAPS (it should work if you claim but haven't tried the manual process)

    Couple of observations from my 50k points bonus last year
    - you can only redeem one policy credit per year. So whilst 50k points equals something like $500, you can only get up to $200 per year discount as that’s the biggest redemption in the store

    -The retail vouchers are single use only so plan well before redeeming

      Yea correct, by the time if you can also redeem live better points for gift cards or $200 premium payment. It’s good for churners, as all of private insurance companies will start increasing the premiums from Nov this year.

    You can also get trapped in bad customer service. Last time I took this offer they messed up my transfer certificate and I have been fighting with them for 5 months to fix it. I had to get the Ombudsman involved and its stil not fixed. There is no customer service for any issues that crop up, They have a huge backlog of complaints was the latest excuse, and no pathway to sort it out. All this took a lot of time and effort out of me. I am beyond pissed.

    YMMV but the retail vouchers can be incredibly hard to use - adidas for example you can't stack the voucher in conjunction with a website discount code, so you're stuck paying an additional 30-50% compared to everyone else. This in theory makes the premium redemption good value but you can only use this once every 12 months.

            @delfredo: You can redeem 25,000 Live Better points for a $200 premium payment (and that is the only option for premium payments using Live Better points).
