Great game but I found it extremely hard on console. Had to get it on PC and when I did it was much more enjoyable.
It's fine. Dlcs were a bit hard though.
I still don't understand how people play FPS games on console, but I'm just old I think.
The ones which are made explicitly for console feel ok, COD is the best on console. Halo another obvious one. Doom felt bad though because it's just so hectic and the aim assist sucked

Yeah, look I'm old enough that I played Doom with a mouse! I just find it crazy that people enjoy aiming in an FPS with a thumbstick with a range of travel of 1-2cm vs a mouse where you can get almost pixel level precision. On the other hand I think console controllers are much better than mouse/keyboard for a range of games including fighting, driving and arcade flight games.
I get stressed just thinking about this game.
I've played this, but got the deal for a teens birthday gift.
I miss when you could just play without the constant need to think about where your next ammo is coming from. It's why I ultimately put the game down, got sick of having to do the melee mechanic to top up ammo all the frikken time…

It's definitely a step up in intensity from Doom 2016. I really didn't enjoy the platforming elements when I tried it out on GP. At this price, I can definitely give it another attempt.

Good price, but imagine playing an FPS with a controller…
I think most people don't need to imagine because they've being doing so for decades, having fun without needing to put others down for their choice of device for playing video games for entertainment.
It's still just an imagingation for me. I was tempted, as I've got an Xbox SX, but nahhh, couldn't bring myself to commit such travesty.

Been playing this a fair bit recently on XSX via Game Pass - I've well and truly lost count of how many times I've died but it's so much fun to play I'm not even mad.
$12 PC would be a better deal, with ray-tracing
