Canon EOS 650D (body only) Aus stock - where to find lowest price?

I'm thinking about buying a Canon 650D (body only) and want Australian stock not a grey import. The best price I've found is $825 from these guys in Brisbane http://camerapro.net.au/canon-650d-body-only-australian-stoc… - as I'm Sydney I've contacted teds.com.au who price match and have agreed to meet that price from a store (ie I wont have to pay postage). Just wanted to check if anyone was aware of any better price for this item in Australia?

thanks!

  • hi debargaine,

I was going to post something very similar today, because i've been looking for 600d/650d and 18-135mm IS / STM (either by kit or separately). Although, I'm in perth.

The websites I have been keeping an eye on are:
    http://www.binglee.com.au/
    http://www.digidirect.com.au
    http://www.digitalcameragear.com.au
    http://www.fotoriesel.com.au/
    http://www.Georges.com.au
    http://www.ryda.com.au
    http://camerapro.net.au
    http://www.diamondscamera.com.au
    http://www.cameraelectronic.com.au
    http://www.camerahouse.com.au
    http://www.leedervillecameras.com.au
    http://www.camerasolutions.com.au

These are the only online websites that I'm aware of, for registered canon dealers, with prices. If you know of any others, PLEASE tell me :)

Anyway, camerapro ($825) is the cheapest price I've seen for aussie stock 650d. Their price for the 600d also beat most others at the moment.

As for me, I'm hoping one of the retailers has some kind of a dslr sale in the near future. If I can get the body as aussie stock, then i'm happy to get the lens grey import.

  • Teds.com.au gave me a price of $790 delivered when I asked them to price match cameraparadise.com

They also gave me a price of $1250 delivered when I asked them for the 18-135 STM kit.

    • can i ask what exactly you did/said to get them to pricematch camera paradise?

      • via their website.

Just gave the link with the postage… and he just responded saying that its grey import stock, but here is the cheapest price we can do…

        Pretty simple actually.

        • ahh kk thanks, tried this to get them to match a 24-105 canon, didnt do it =/

said they best they could do on that was 1099….

  • price matching aussie for grey? nice :)
may as well get them to pricematch the cheapest grey out there, and I think that would be techrific.com.au $654?

  • I requested a price match today with Teds against this grey import (cameraparadise.com/buy-canon-eos-650d-digital-camera-body-1283.html) at $627.36 after seeing multi97@'s comment. Teds responded just now: "The best price I can offer for the Canon EOS 650D Body is $810.00." Any other ideas how to drive down the purchase price?

  • i reckon just do it again tomorrow. Just say you got a friend to quote at Ted's just a few days ago and you were offered $790.

  • Yay - thanks multi97@ - I went back to Teds again with the 'you offered my friend' request — the response "The best price I can offer for the Canon EOS 650D Body is $790.00." :) That's $35 off their original price match.

mmm $790 for Aus stock - should I settle for that or try and push it down further….

  • I'm in the same spot. I wouldn't buy overseas stock at the moment… if you get a bad 'recalled' one, you'll be annoyed for not paying the extra $100 bucks or so for a manufacturers warranty.

  • Anybody bought from Plaza Cameras before? Any issues?

  • no idea. they have a brick and mortar store in perth, but the FAQ says they won't honour online prices in store, unless at manager's discretion. i doubt they'd honour that price.

    also, just saw this (29/8/2012):
    http://groupbuy.ebay.com.au/
$890 CANON EOS 650D Twin Lens Kit 18-55mm & 55-250mm IS II Only 500 in stock

  • Try bargaining with Binglee.. I tried bargaining with 4 binglee stores and finally got the lowest price from chatswood..

I am going to buy 3 tonight for $1000 (includes 650d twin lens, cannon bag and a 32gb SD card)

you wont find a lower price than this for an AU stock .. If one binglee denies, try others.

    • Hi mate, do you have the docket/receipt or your purchase. That price is really a steal and will definitely like to match it.

  • Hey guys.. I just bought on off of this website.

    http://www.topbuy.com.au/tbcart/pc/Digital-SLR-Cameras-c979.…

    Seems legit and good price.

  • I finally bought a Canon 60D from Binglee(although I was going to buy a 650D, I bargained a bit for the upgrade). I got a 60D slr with twin lens, a canon camera bag and a 32gb class 10 memory card for just $1260.

Best part.. its an Aussie stock with an aussie warranty from an aussie retailer.. :D..
