Telstra to amaysim Port in Stuck for 2 Days

I bought 180GB/12 Month $100 from this deal and yesterday made a transfer request for my existing Telstra number to Amaysim, it's been 2 days since my number is in SOS so pretty sure the Telstra has done their part and now Amaysim people are still keep telling me to wait for 3 business days, during the day I checked the status and found the transfer request has failed so I re-applied and now back to square one.

  • Are you receiving the sms port request?

    • Do you mean that one OTP that you get when you are making the transfer request, yes that I did after that it was still active for a while and then went to SOS, so no service now.

  • Is Tesltra what happens when Telstra & Tesla merge?

Good luck with A may sim

  • Mine happened within minutes when I ported over the other day

  • Things like wrong birthday, name spelt wrong etc can cause it to fail.

    • Op wouldn’t have gotten the OTP if dob or whatever was incorrect

The OTP is usualy sent by the acquiring carrier before the check for Account Number / Date of Birth is done.

    • Pretty sure I had provided all the information correctly, it has failed again now.

You might want to double check. This is the primary reason for a port to fail. You might also want to check Telstra had your DOB and name right as well (like they didn't fat finger something), because that could be causing the fail.

        • Yeah, I guess I'll have to pay a visit to the Telstra store as I can't even reach out to them over the phone

@TaurusHead: Dude personally, I dont think its telstra's fault. Its just amaysim, you chose that $h!!ty company you will likely now just have to pay price of that with $h!!ty support.

If you think issue LIES with TELSTRA >AMAYSIM porting ? then do a port from TELSTRA > BOOST/Lyca (physical sim) or Kogan E-sim (cheapest, assuming you can wait for delivery) or any other provider honestly.
            Then try porting to amaysim.

  • Was your Telstra connection, Prepaid or Post Paid?

had the same problem turns out it was an error with the date of birth as Amaysim uses the American system so will have to change to that in the form.

    • If one's date falls on the 13 to 31, it'll never be an issue.

Or one's date and month are of the same number, e.g. 1 Jan.

  • If your Telstra sim has gone SOS, it means the port was successful from leaving Telstra and either there is an issue with your Amaysim SIM card, your phone’s settings or Amaysim’s system and how it ported your number.

I would if possible try the sim in a different phone to see if that does anything and if you haven’t already, restart your phone with the new sim in it.

Failing that threaten Amaysim with Ombudsman as they’re leaving you without a service at all.

It was funny, looks like Telstra deactivated my service without approving the transfer out and Amaysim was unable to Port in as the service was not active, so I had to visit Telstra store, they made me buy a $2 SIM card, activated it on the same number I had and then asked me to put the transfer request again and it went through within an hour.
