Nintendo Switch Package deal:

OLED Switch console plus Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (physical) plus screen protector plus Tears of the Kingdom Fork and Spoon.

I ran out of space in the title for the full description.

Posting because it might help some people save some money and because it has a fork and a spoon included.

Value and price It feels like the best deal out there r/n if you are getting Tears of the kingdom. There's some crucial information below.

Please remember the console and game are the Japanese Versions but the console can be set to English and AU eshop.

Tears of the kingdom is multi language and plays in English if English is selected.

The game is the physical version.
I'm not sure about future DLC being region locked. So you may need to take this into consideration.

You will need a Japanese power plug adapter or replacement Australian adapter for Nintendo Switch.

Pretty easy to find a Japanese to AU power adapter though.

Fork features three prongs for food ability Forth prong is for business time.

Spoon features concave surface and is ready for stirring and holding liquid or eating rice/pasta.

Engraved with Tears of the Kingdom Logo for reasons unknown.

Screen protector included.

too bad not zelda themed lol still that $501 before GC is the best

  • can zelda game be played here in AU>?

    • +4

Yes. Its not region locked. It plays in English if you select English as the language.

Except as I mentioned future Game DLC might be region locked. There's no DLC for the game announced yet anyway and there might not be any.

There's a chance you might need to create a Japanese eshop account in the future if you wanted to buy future DLC and you tried and couldn't buy it normally on the Australian Eshop because you get an error due to the DLC being region locked.

Other than this the game works normally and the same as Aussie version.

Fork features three prongs and ability to aid in eating food.

Photo shows four prongs OP… What are the chances this is counterfeit?

    • Also wondering who uses a spoon to eat pasta.

Is op an ai bot trolling us

        Risoni.

      • +2

I don't get why you get the Fork and Spoon in the pack because Japan?

But you can definitely use a fork and spoon to eat spaghetti.

        It's the Italian way.

You use the spoon as the base and twirl the fork on it.

        • +1

I use chopsticks to eat spaghetti.

and put extra pineapple on my Hawaiian pizza

        • I use a fork and spoon when I eat spaghetti in restaurants to make myself look more ‘civilised’ because that’s how Italians do it ;)

          • @FrugalNotStingy: Are you saying that people who use chopsticks aren't civilized?

            • @SpeedRunnerLink: No, not at all. I just mean in different settings, I follow the flow, there is really no right or wrong.
If they give me a fork and a spoon for spaghetti in restaurants, I use them. If they give me chopsticks. I’ll use them as well.

I use chopsticks for noodles at home. With cup noodles, I use a fork.

      I see you've played spoony-fork before…

  • +6

Fork and spoon in title plz 😜

  • +15

They’re literally forking out a 6 year old system
And spoon feeding it to people at the same price point as before.

This must be the strangest accessory I have seen in a gaming bundle. I mean who provides a screen protector for a fork and a spoon!

    Upvote for utensils

I love unrelated merchandise that come with games. So random. 👍

  • +2

The fork should say "a test of strength" on it

    • +3

its not region locked and also the australian version doesn't have a spoon and fork.

  • Fork features three prongs and ability to aid in eating food.

    Can you elaborate please?

Deal has been there for a while, I think local warranty is still matters to someone. Just a reminder before you order.

    • +5

It certainly does. My sons OLED bricked with about 3 hours use.

  • +1

Not even totk version. NO AU warranty

    • +4

Going to say this is purchased from Amazon Australia so I believe you are incorrect about warranty as it would still come under Australian Consumer Guarantee

      • Going to say it's a grey import but you'd be welcome to.go through the rogmarole of consumer affairs if it breaks. How much do you value your time?

Selling parallel imports is an accepted method of sale in the Australian market; however, while consumers have the same consumer rights as with purchasing other products in Australia, it may be more difficult to get a remedy if something goes wrong with a parallel import.

I think Nintendo have misunderstood my cries for a fork’n spoon…

Future DLC: Tears of the Utensil-less Kingdom

  • Hijacking this thread a little bit. My little man has been wanting to play Mario so I said I'd get him a Switch. Is the pre-owned Switch @ EB Games worth the $299 price tag? I know there's an OLED model out there, but this is more for a 5 year old than anyone else in the household. Worth pulling the trigger on this one or do we expect a fantastic deal at tax time? TIA.

    • +1

I would buy a 2nd hand switch lite, probably get one in good condition for around $180

    • +1

CEX has used Switches with warranty for $230 up for the lite (portable only version) and $290 up for the original.

But old switches often have joy con drift and/or a lot of wear and grime. Not great for so close to the new price.

There's usually a deal around $370 or so around tax time, yeah.

(Speaking from experience, the best Switch Mario games to play together with your kids are actually Super Mario 3D World and Mario kart 8, so the best cheap option for many people is actually just to buy those for WiiU for like $35 each and then emulate them on an old PC/laptop with whatever old controllers you already own. We enjoyed that for years before finally buying a Switch for Splatoon 2 and Odyssey).

      • Honestly the mario odyseey is the ideal mario intro game for younger kids. They can be cappy and switch to mario occasionaly as they get used to them, and promotes health coop

    • +1

Switch lite you can't play on TV.
      It's only handheld.

Whereas a normal switch is handheld and TV.

Sometimes people are trying to upgrade or sell old Nintendo Switch's because there's this OLED model or buying a Zelda Switch and they can't get a good trade in from EB or they just stop playing. So maybe marketplace or something like that could be an option.

Otherwise EB with the pre-owned deal and Big W are good places to buy a normal switch right now.

  • Fork yeh

what's with the fork and spoon?

  • Price has decreased to 459.62

  • Just received the delivery from Amazon Japan. Got some Jabra headphones instead of the Switch bundle. Have to return it. Very annoying!

    • Damn.. that is weird and unfortunate.
How you going with Amazon? Shout out if you need a hand.

  • would voltage be an issue? How would this be different to getting other Japanese appliances to work in AU?
