Dyson Vs Shark Vs Others

Our upright dc25 just crapped itself after 9 years. We were extremely happy with it, the motorised head was good with our plush carpets, it had good suction and it was great to manoeuvre.

Can someone please recommend a great replacement for this?

Are Dyson uprights still any good? Or is there another brand we should look at around the $400-600 mark?

Not interested in stick vacs as we have one of them, we want an upright for the better cleans especially on the plush carpets

Thank you

  • Shark xl was 420 ish last week on amazon , seemed pretty good

  • +2

Miele is worth looking at. We are using C3 currently and pretty happy with it.

  • The Miele units are great and inexpensive, the are solid and well built, ours is around 5 yo, and is still going strong, it was around $300 or so, just great value and quality

  • If you have wall-to-wall carpet consider a Kirby

    • What do you mean by wall to wall?

      • Fitted carpets. When you say plush carpets, that could be rugs or large format mats.

  • I’ve got a Samsung Jet. No complaints from me.

  • You can get a Dyson v10 for $650 now. You could wait for a special. Dyson is by far the best vacuum I have owned.

    • Thanks but as I said in the post, we already have a stick vac and need a stronger vac for the deeper carpet cleans

      • Ok, understood. The C3 is a good plug-in vac.

  • Check out vaccum wars on youtube

  • We had a Dyson and it was rubbish. My wife was pushing to get a Dyson and even she hated it. The motor died just outside warranty

    • Ours has been amazing. When our carpets were 7 years old we had them all professionally cleaned and it was almost a waste of time they were still that clean. The guy couldn't believe they were that old.
