200 Everyday Rewards Points for Opting out of Paper Receipts @ Everyday Rewards (App Required)

550

A repeat targeted offer if you don't have e-receipts turned on. Low rewards offer but it's enough to get me over the 2000 line, every little bit helps. Need to boost offer in the app.

Need more points than that to give up those paper receipts. Is that like 0.20?

    • +5

      Its a dollar

    • +9

What value is the paper receipts? Don't you just chuck them in the bin anyway?

      I opted out for convenience.

    • +1

Even if you dont opt out on the app you have the option of clicking no receipt at the checkout. I dont usually opt out but i like the option (ie will click yes to receipt if going into other shops after). I do opt out for a few days every time they give me this offer though

      • Only if the transaction is less than $30 - Otherwise it assumes you want the receipt and it won't give you the option to click no. I've opted out just for convenience too, one less thing to worry about, and I can show the digital receipt on my phone if any issues arise

  • wonder if you still get the liquor deals on the bottom of the digital receipt

  • +10

Used to be 500 points to give up paper receipts, wasn't enough incentive then for me.

    • +14

opt out of receipts in the app for just one of the 3 options (I do BWS) then when you get the points opt back in again

      • very ozbargain.

also when you opt-in doesnt it still save copy of eReceipt too?

        • Yep I'm pretty sure it does under activity

    • +3

What's so good about the paper receipts though. The app is actually pretty good for the digital receipts, easy to find and can't accidentally lose them.

      • For returns or exchanges, it means someone else can present the paper receipt
        .

        • +4

You can text or email them the receipt from the app

  • +2

It was once 2000 pts ages ago

  • +4

Not much incentive really - is it easy to check your digital receipt for pricing errors?

    • +2

Very easy, just click on the more tab and it’s in my e-receipts

      • Not more tab. Rewards app -> 'Activity' tab

  • +1

    I had to opt in.

    To get this.

When they give me free paper bags to put my groceries in I may consider it. For the youngersters out there, this was a thing before they brought it plastic bags.

I've only seen paper shopping bags in American movies. Do you shop using the nursing home rec room computer? ;-D

      • +2

American movies? A lot of us saw them in Australian supermarkets, and no, we're not in nursing homes.

Scroll down and you'll see a range of Aussie supermarkets.

Paper bags at Woolies in SA.

      • There used to be a supermarket chain called Tuckerbag before the duopoly started taking over. All they used were paper bags, christ their store mascot was even a paper bag. https://youtu.be/FdhmWhMtLUk

      • Woolies uses them. Not free though.

  • Is this targeted or for everyone? Including new signups?

  • +1

My only use for paper receipts is entering the competitions like Ayam (Thai curry paste etc).

They don't accept digital receipts as proof of purchase.

  • +4

    Turn off then back on?

  • do i need to receive an email about this to get the points?

    • Should be listed as an offer in the app if you're targeted. Activate the offer and you should get confirmation on the register…expect points on the 25/6.

    5c savings cool

    • It's much better than that, it's $1

      • -1

But one cannot redeem $1, must be $20

        • +2

          @Chicken Kyiv

          $10 for redemption ( 2000 points)

  • -3

Woolies gives you $1 and they will save $1,000 of dollars. You will find in the future there will be kiosks which can only print receipt like half the kiosks only accept card.

They won't need to buy ink, paper and store and have the attendant change the paper.

$1 dollar for you will cost everyone else in the future. Not even worth the trouble.

This deal should be downvoted into the toilet.

    • +2

Their receipts are printed on thermal rolls lol they don’t need to buy ink

  • I agree with last poster 🚽

Guess they are hoping that people don’t notice the ‘ pricing errors ‘ = Overcharging ,—? so easily — . I opted out when they offered a higher point incentive, as .I do not TRUST them . As easy as that ! 🤌🏼

    • +3

Check the e-receipt. It looks identical.

  • It was 500 points earlier.. now changed to 200.

  • I opted in to save paper, this p**ses me off, where's my points? Switched right back on.

  • +5

I've had receipts turned off for over a year and the awkward silence when the operator is waiting for the receipt has become somewhat entertaining.

"Paying with Everyday Pay and …………………………… Oh, um …………….. you don't want receipt?"

  • There have been a few instances where security stopped people leaving as they didn't show proof of purchase. They logged into their bank App and showed the last transaction and it was still not good enough apparently. The person told them to review the video footage too. It was quite stressful for that person…. So On That Note, I will never choose paperless transaction. Plus it also gives me an opportunity to scan down the list for any price errors. This is what Woolies want you to opt out off.

    • +3

The receipt is right there in the rewards app immediately, it is identical to the paper one to scan down the list for pricing errors. Sounds like that person might have thrown out their paper receipt and had nothing to show security. If they had the digital receipt it would be right there in the rewards app instead of needing to show the bank app.

I often pop into ALDI/Coles after Woolies. Sometimes without buying anything (sold out) and they ask for receipts when they see me exiting with bags.
I won’t opt out until e-receipt is standardised.
Happy to sacrifice a dollar if I can skip arguing with security.

    • Why wouldn't you just leave? Security can't hold you in the store.

  • -1

Using an app to do your grocery shopping, nope.

  • +2

Bonus pts credited, switch off for the next offer.

    • Thanks for the reminder. Got my points too. Everyday rewards is usually good with bonus points. Flybuys not so much.
