Just finished this amazing game, highly recommend if you have a partner.

      waiting for a deal

      • You've already got the deal

Think they waiting for a deal on a partner :P

amazon on price matched as well

    • Thanks, I'll add to the post.

    • +1

Yep, it's been that price since at least 12 June according to my Amazon wishlist notes. I can't decide whether to buy it since I don't have any friends…

  • I've got this game on Xbox and loved it. Wanting to recommend to my dad but he only has a Switch. Does it run well enough?

    • +3

I finished it on Switch, runs perfectly fine, although he will need 2 sets of controllers (i.e. not just 2 joy cons).

    • +1

I can't seem to find it for any decent price on xbox, and some places don't even carry it, like jb.

      • Got game pass ultimate? From memory it's on ea play

        • Nah I don't, my pile of shame is big, when I get time to play I just play something I have, but this sounds like a decent game to play with the other house peeps

I used to surf the games with gold back when I could pick up a freebie or a buck offer, but since they stopped putting out 360 games you need to maintain the sub to play what they put out which is almost a complete waste of time for me. Also there's been hardly any free/buck deals lately, so I don't bother.

On that note, if soneone does have game pass and bought this game prior and would consider selling it, let me know

      • Yea we played it on game pass on the series x and was great but i dropped game pass as i really dont use it enough (have loads of physical games i dont have time to play). Also trying to find it for a non crazy price on xbox, i have a switch but dont want to start from scratch again if i can avoid it lol

    Does this have LAN support?

    • From memory there’s a ‘friends’ download option so they can play on their own system without having to purchase the game, they just log into your game with a code / invite

      • Lol yeah, but I was hoping it has LAN, since it's ported onto switch. I already own this game on pc. It's moreso to have as a semi party game.

        • +1

The lack of pure lan support these days is frustrating for sure. Having high ping with two machines right next to each other is absurd

  • Price matched by amazon - free shipping with prime

    • Thanks, its been posted in another comment and already added to the post.

EDIT: I've added to the very top of the post to make it more obvious.

For those with this game already @sydonk, @Gravy Train and @spackbace:

Can you please comment on the Course Language used/referenced in the game?

Consumer Advice: Mild themes, violence and coarse language, online interactivity

    • Can't really remember anything tbh

Given the themes though, it's more of a game to play between couples, not between parent and kid, for example (imo) (guessing that's why you're asking?)

      • I played with my son (6yo) and daughter (9yo). There is one scene which is repeatedly referenced online as being a bit horrible (conceptually), but it's otherwise a very inoffensive gave.

        • +1

          Which scene?

I just figured that playing the roles of husband and wife divorcing, and their daughter crying over it, wouldn't be something kids would understand or even need/want to know. Puts too much into their head if/when their parents next have an argument.

You'll also kick a beloved toy elephant off a cliff in order to make your daughter cry (magical tears), and force a vacuum cleaner's pair of suctioning arms (hoses) into its own eyes.

          Yep, those did surprise us

          • @spackbace: Sorry, got interrupted mid comment. Yes all of those scenes, especially the elephant one. I generally skipped all of the cut scenes, and focused on the gameplay, which was very enjoyable.
Personally, I think unless your children are super sensitive, or you feel the need to wrap them in cotton wool, it's fine. Clearly based on the common sense media parent feedback above, some feel differently.

            • +1

@youknow: After reading through CSM, it sounds like the review was left as a warning due to it causing kids to cry and quit game. If anything, I now want to buy game as I am intrigued.

              Thanks for the feedback all

          • +1

@spackbace: I played this game with my teen daughter. We felt like incredibly bad people in the elephant scene…it was quite full on!

  • Please tell me the soundtrack features the banger from Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock:

Great game, although I do want to temper expectations with the Switch version:

    • The loading times can be terrible. 30-45 seconds between levels, but the worst parts are in some boss levels, if both of you die you go back to a checkpoint, and that load may take 10-20 seconds. This is the switch!
    • The port itself is kind of lazy. Doesn't affect gameplay, but the graphics have a delayed load/pop in. You can see this on the title screen, where the trees are 2d, then 3d, then 3d with a bit of detail.

Now with that said, it's still a great game - the coop is top notch, the variety of gameplay is great. Still well worth it.

    • Yeah I picked it up yesterday and played about 2 hours with my wife, I noticed the pop-in straight away but it didn't really ruin gameplay. The Switch load times so far haven't been more than about 5 seconds for the most part, but its on internal storage not an SD or anything, not sure if that makes a difference. Might be more noticeable later in the game.

Amazon not at same price anymore

Thanks @greennick I'll update the post.

      • I tried using different words but it wouldn't let me post, just report it as expired, but the core deal isn't expired!

        So, this was my way of saying s o l d o u t

  • Game is exceptional, note the partner will need some actual semi decent skills.
