Green and black are both just over $30.

I bought a black Rotring about 6 months ago. Everytime I use it I wonder why I didn't buy one earlier!

    • Whats so special about these?

      • +1

It just feels weighty and nice in the hand for the clutch pencil. Compared to other brand 0.5mm plastic cased pencils it just feels better.
        Can't speak for the pens.

  • got them in the last deal. pretty underwhelming, stick to japanese gel pens i reckon.

    • +1

These are the pencils, but I agree, I wasn't overly impressed with the rotring 600 ballpoint.
I use the Kaco gel ink pens, fantastic to write with.

  • Good price. Not used these, but I have a lot of other brands.

Best I've used in Pentel Smash line. Picked one up in Japan last Nov and seems they are on sale in a number of colours.

The Kuru Togas are good too. They have a mechanism that rotates the lead so it maintains a sharp point. Useful if one uses a soft lead like a 2B. Officeworks sell these in a variety of colours.

Reviews say the 600 is heavy. Good for drafting, not for writing long periods. For that the bargain 500 is better for 20 bucks…

Explains why my right arm is bigger.

start using the other arm for doing the thing you do to even them out.

Lucky I'm ambidextrous. Its gotten me out of sticky situations.

  • This is rank 1 in mechanical pencils and seems much more advanced

    • The uni Kuru Toga Advance is better value for money, $7.57.

      • Thanks for sharing. What's the main difference? Metal body vs resin?

        • Mainly the Advance variant turns the lead twice as fast.

Just bought the lighter 500 for $10

    • Kanjus nice find! Also got one cheers. You should post it.

  • What do you know about leads?

    • +1

Not very much except that 2B is the sweet spot in my opinion. My uncle who is still old school accountant and uses paper spreadsheet swears by Pilot because it doesn't break as often but I go with whatever is good value.

        Any good?

        • Looks ok, should be fine and if not its still cheap at half the price. Let me know how you go. Good luck.
