Best Value Home and Content Insurance for WA (Perth Area)

I currently have home and content insurance with Honey Insurance.
Set on auto renewal and been told the premium is going up by $200+ for the same insured value. New premium would be around $1,100+.

Any idea which insurance company to use?
In WA (Perth area), thank you in advance.

  • I’ve mostly used AAMI and Budget for all my insurances. Found them to be the cheapest and reliable based on several claims over the years, home, landlord and car

  • +1

    Why don’t you try RAC.
Just beware they don’t have an accidental option.

  • Budget direct was $6xx for me last year, $1500 for renewal. Didn't put any claims or anything, a requote was more expensive and everywhere else was pretty damn high too. Surprisingly, managed to get AAMI compete replacement for $1050

  • My AAMI went up from $800 to $920 this year. Shopped around and the best anybody else offered was near $1200 even with all the new sign-up bonuses.
Sadly I wont be churning insurance this year…

    • No way. Look at my comment below. I think BD should give you a more pleasant quote than your aami renewal.

      • Budget direct are great for price but pathetic with claims. The whole idea of insurance is to not be run through hell if you do have to make a claim…

That said with 30% discount it was $350 higher and that was with higher excesses. Not exactly my idea of a "pleasant" quote.

        • I'm still comparing but Budget direct quoted me almost the same amount I paid for AAMI which is over $100 cheaper.

Never deal with them before but radicalvin above said his experience wasn't bad.

  • Same with AAMI for many years. This year's renewal increased by over $100.

Budget direct is having a 30% discount for new policy promo, the discounted price seems OK, at least for the first year.

  • Honey Insurance was a good $300 cheaper than AAMI, Budget direct, Virgin.
They offer a free home sensor kit and a $300 credit towards AGL account. I doubt next years renewal will be as good!

    • Good to know. Where did you see the info about the AGL credit? Can’t seem to find it on the website

    • Thanks mate

  • I have a referral code too if it helps. Worth checking to see if it works out better valve first. In my case it was far cheaper and I didn't get a referral
