How do you spot it was a fake?

  • Is La Roche sunscreen any better than the Korean branded sunscreens?

    • less chemicals passing thru the Dermis to take a holiday! 👲

Given the broad idea of "the Korean branded sunscreens" and La Roche being one of the leading popular pharmacy brands, I'd say yes.

      • Yeah, a lot of the Korean cosmetic brands popular overseas, like a couple of the ones mentioned here, are made-for-export brands with limited retail presence in Korea. They're usually produced by ODMs, and the brands don't do any original R&D themselves, so you're not really getting anything special.

That doesn't mean they're bad. But it's kind of like comparing La Roche-Posay to the Kogan of sunscreen.

That depends on which Korean brands. I'd say for this price, you can find cheaper alternatives with equal to or better quality to LRP.

Currently using Beauty of Joseon and Isntree. I find I'm loving the roll-on sunscreen that's by Isntree so far. It's lightweight, not oily on the skin and doesn't leave a cast.

        • I have that in my rotation. If you are happy with what you are using, I don't see a reason to swap unless you want to try something different. I couldn't justify paying $24/bottle when I can buy K&J sunscreen for $10-17/tube.

        • Just looked into isntree thanks for the rec. Looks good, seems just as expensive as LRP thought? Any plugs?

          • @Archaleas: I use Stylevana and they often go on sale. The sunscreen stick is worth it.

    • my pick for the korean brands is Dr Belmeur probably not the cheapest, but it’s definitely my favourite. It seems to be long lasting and doesn’t feel greasy.

Chemist Warehouse often have this one on special for $21

  • Suggestions for cheaper Japanese sunscreens now we have access to Amazon JP?

The Anthelios XL is my daily but I think I use it a little more sparingly than I should be because of the price.
