      Both Tiger and Zojirushi haven't been made in Japan for a long time.

  Is there a reason why so many Tiger branded thermos' are showing up the past few weeks?

  I have an 11 year old Zojirushi that gets used multiple times a week that's still going strong.

    Pretty sure none. I did however see a rather small thermos from Zojirushi that was made in Japan when I was in Akihabara; the price was rather high too.

            @plague69: Should've bought it when I saw it in Tokyo then. I think they were around the 6000 yen mark. Combine with the strong yen at the time, and tax back and it would've been decent.

  My kids use an old thermos in winter sometimes, and complain stainless steel bottles taste too metallic. I always figured that's just normal, do the newer tiger / zojirushi ones vary from 'taste' that much? Just got me thinking about this hehe
