Nameraka Honpo Foam Face Wash NC $7.18 $7.20 $7.32 (Updated: Jun 30)

Saw this brand of skincare everywhere in Japan. This is a self-foaming face cleanser with soybean extract and ceramide. The marketing blurb says it helps to keep pores clean and removes excess sebum. Haven't used it myself but reviews say that it's non-drying with fine foam. Sells for around 800yen in Japan so if you have Prime, you'll be paying local price delivered to your door for free.

Soy milk-based rich micro foam wash. Micro lather cleans deep into pores and makes your skin refreshed and smooth. No need to make a lather on busy mornings. Just push once!

If you have acne, there is a medicated version for $8.51 $9.01 $9.12

Pure white soymilk-based foam wash. This foam comes in an easy-to-use press bottle, so you can have clear skin even on busy mornings. It also prevents rough skin and pimples.

I appreciate Japanese products being sold at local pharmacy pricing. Those shops in Sydney Chinatown have 100% to 200% mark ups.

    • +5

Although I agree it's insane pricing, but still need to factor in them getting the product over here, importing it themselves, shipping, and then the profit they need to make as well as their overheads, granted of course they're going to be significantly higher as well.

Be careful, a lot of Japanese skin products can be whitening, not that you look like a family member from the Adam’s Family after the procedure!

    • Not sure why you are being downvoted, what you state is factually accurate for many Asian produced products, I know from experience.

      • +1

Yes, exactly. The OzBargain fingers can be very quick. Facts are facts. Even the fanboys and girls of this product have to admit this.

the upvotes downvotes here follow patterns, early upvoting everyone gets onboard, early downvoteing, everyone gets onboard. Both extreme results are an absolute badge of honour.

@seamonkey: The down voters hide behind a curtain. It’s the Followers phenomenon. Shut off your brains and do what everyone else does.

@Thrifty Dan: Don't see why are names can't be seen when we downvote. Stand behind your goddamn downvote. That's one thing I'd change about ozbargain.

              • +1

@seamonkey: Probably because there are enough crazies out there who will harrass people for negging. The penalty box here is often full of them

      • do you use this detergent? lol

I don't think you need to worry. Even so called 'brightening' products are not going to bleach your skin, they may just lighten some hyperpigmentation at best. Nothing on the (approved) market is really strong enough to whiten significantly. An exception may be formulas with significant amounts of hydroquinone, which you'd need a prescription for anyway.

There's no hydroquinone in the products above.

Why shouldn't I resemble the moon?

    • …..and what's wrong with any skin colour?

  • +3

I've seen these at 24$ a pop in niche Asian cosmetic shops. Oh my god I'm basically buying 4 on Amazon for the price of 1 over here.

  • Cheers for this op, mind telling me how to look up Amazon JP?? Ive seen so much deals lately from ozb in regards to Amazon JP deals

  • Seems not avail

    • Yeah, only medicated version left

    • Available again

  • Is this recommended for men too? I know nothing about skin care

    • Your skin type is more important when choosing skin care. These are just face washes and should be pretty safe for most people. Only the medicated type is left though - probably more suited to acne-prone skin.

  • What makes the medicated one “medicated”? I can’t see any of the typical drug ingredients like salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide.

Is this just marketting or I’m missing something?

    • Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate, water, N-coconut oil fatty acid acylglycinpotassium liquid, BG, sorbit liquid, maltitol solution, 2-alkyl-N-carboxymethyl-N-hydroxethyl imidazorinium betaine, soy milk fermentation, dye extract, L-ascolbyl magnesium, EDTA-2Na, ethanol, radylmethyl phosphate. -Beta-Alanin Sodium liquid, potassium hydroxide, phenoxyethanol

        Yeah, (profanity) NAH!

  • 696 yen

  • Normal version back in stock but only 2 4 left at $7.20. Medicated version has gone up to $9
