      it's 6% off
      $125 - $5 bonus - $2.5 regular cashback = $117.5

      117.5 / 125 = 0.94 -> 6% off

      • +3

Oh yup, I divided by the wrong number haha. Got 6% now.

        ($125 - $117.5) / $125 = 6%

Sorry just got drained mentally and physically replying to everyone on both of my previous deals

      • +1

        5% sucks

With the purchase fee it's quite literally a 2.34% discount

        • +1

Yeah not worth it. Also, this deal is westpac challenge, u have to use westpac to pay

        • What purchase fee?

          • @B-Man02: A $250 Coles prepaid Mastercard incurs a $7 purchase fee

            • @BargainsGrabber: Ah without your comment there it didn't make sense. Didn't even notice it was removed.
              Cheers

      • +1

        2.x% not worth it.
it's now declined by Paypal wallet.
Hence you can no longer use it to purchase discsounted WW gift card or Prezzee gift card.
        Wait for 10% off.

      • lol, lmao

Shopback has been pushing heaps of sh!tty deals this month. This one is no exception.

    • +1

agree. It's EOFY now and still no decent gift card deal.

    • +5

For real. At least CR has been pumping them out.

      • -4

That's because Cashrewards know and understand how to consistently put out actual deals, versus whatever mindset Shopback has. They've likely got a bunch of interns sitting around a windowless room, forcing them to stay there until they come up with a promotion.

CR promotions are almost always ✅
Shopback promos are just mostly 💩

Not to mention TA's impressive response times and customer service when we have a problem or question.

I love GYB too but my only problem is these days they're taking 5 business days to reply.

          • -1

@I Smell Pennies: TA is 100% beast mode. CR and TA understand the nuances of the customer experience. Meanwhile, SB are too busy ignoring emails and rejecting qualified cashbacks to care about anything else. Not forgetting to mention their penchant for not approving upsized cashback offers, thus, forcing us to chase them up. 😒

      • +1

Sadly they are all snapped up before i even have time to see the deal

  • Change the name to Westbac from shopback … !

    • +2

Yeah these westpac deals saves me money as I don’t spend as much. Used to buy heaps of gift cards but now not so much.

  • +6

    10% or nah

    • +1

Remember that free money is free money — percentages are lame and often misleading

      • +1

That's it. I agree with both.
I'm desperately in need of some bunnings giftcard so took what i could get. But i normally only stock up on 10%+

      • +6

@ 10% discount it’s worth sitting on the gift cards holding out for a purchase in the future. Sure if you need something now then go for it. But anything less than 10% and you’re better leaving the money in an offset account / high interest savings account.

        • +2

Sitting on gift cards is inherently risky. Sometimes I'd rather just have the peace of mind rather than saving an extra $30 but worrying that my gift card could be stolen. Depends on the scenario really.

          • @rekke: Obviously nobody is selfish enough to buy a gift card for themselves, so I guess if they’re stolen it’s not really your problem. Still, I suppose the recipient could be secretly thinking that you might be an Indian giver

      • unless you can use these gift cards anywhere in australia and even pay your taxes, what you're getting is not "money".

  • +2

Good only if you are already planning on buying something

  • Good for coles shopping

  • +1

Thanks - a slightly better saving at Coles.

    • -1

Not really. The footy season $10 bonus on $150 at Prezzee is still on. Hold your horses.

  • How long does it take to track the bonus?

    • GC purchases on the app have typically tracked within a few minutes for me
