Holden has recalled more than 50,000 cars over a potential brake fault identified in Korea.
The company said the recall covered four models, the Barina, Viva, Epica and Captiva which were all built in Korea between 2007 and 2010.
The recall notice said a condition had been identified where, in some instances, the cars may experience a reduced brake performance or spongy or low brake pedal.
The condition was associated with a sticky valve in the electronic brake control module (EBCM).
Holden said owners would be contacted to arrange a free inspection, brake fluid flush and a replacement EBCM if necessary.
The company said the problem had been identified in Korea and it was not aware of any instances of the condition occurring in Australia.
