They didn't bother signing up with a VPN + new email and device?

    • +8

So this guy works for Menulog and is posting his voucher here? The (profanity)?

      • +1

        YEHA WTF lol

    • +12

I'm actually tempted to boycott Menulog based on this (G411's comment) as it's dodgy af.
I wouldn't be too surprised if the whole win $50 voucher is a load of BS

      Edit:
LOL @ G411's screenshot with the address at the top, good job doxing yourself you Menulog associated asshat. Too bad you didn't tell us your unit number so the people of OzBargain could leave a few 'Vouchers' on your doorstep lol
I hope for their sake it wasn't their real address lol

      • +1

Drop a menulog on their front doorstep

    • +1

      Wow that's scummy.

    • +1

all 3 13 Russell st's on google maps are within short driving distance from me.

perhaps I should give him a visit and ask for a menulog code? 😂😂

    • This is a dog act

    • +1

Hope this gets more attention, how scammy is this.

  • +1

I am sceptical of a brand new sign up being the only winner so far.

    • I was thinking that… but it could be real.

    • Regardless, I am sure it triggered a mass "refresh" event from Ozbargain!

  • +4

Going to straight up say this falls under the same bogus as perpetual closing down sales and eBay price jacking.

Kinda costing some of that goodwill from the Deliveroo gift card gesture.

  • +7

I actually used to like menulog with their $5/$10 off $15 spend vouchers.

They got a lot of support during the deliveroo fiasco by allowing people to redeem deliveroo gift cards through them.

But now.. this is the worst competition I've ever seen from any of the food delivery company. Added on to the fact that they even needed to get someone who works for menulog to pretend that they got a 'real $50 voucher' is downright dodgy af.

    Shame on you menulog.

Everyone should redeem their gift cards/vouchers asap because this is desperate dodgy practice.

    • +7

Even right now still nobody else besides that guy has gotten a $50 code.

      • +2

Do you know what does it mean?
. It simply mean we all are wasting time here, It was a false advertisement and no one will get it.

        • +4

I've messaged Menulog on facebook about 30 minutes ago and waiting on a response.. tho I'm probably not gonna get a response because there's probably more people messaging them about it too.

It may be a waste of time but we need an answer about this.

  • +5

To Moderator—- If it proves to be a fake advertisement (HOPE IT IS NOT), should menulog be banned here?

    • +1

I think there'd need to be more of a blatant pattern, there has been some good value to be had from previous deals.

  • Checked on 4 accounts, nothing. Time to riot.

  • +1

Checked on 6 accounts and nothing. Did have a $20 code when you spend $25 and free delivery over $15 but they appear unrelated.

  • +3

Pretty decent sample size here. Very dodgy practice menulog.

  • Nothing here.

    • +1

nothing will come anywhere. It was a hoax. When store rep is showing code as a customer, it is 100% cheat and fraud. Do you still believe you will get code?

  • +4

Free Delivery when you spend min. 60$

    Dear Menulog

    Go and Duck yourself

    Sincerely
    Your kind customers.

  • https://www.linkedin.com/in/morten-birk-belling-1087406/?ori… if anyone wants to message the head of Menulog Australia. His email is also in various places too.

    • What's his email?

  • +1

I almost thought I was gonna get an answer a few hours ago.

I got replied on Facebook from Menulog and the person thought I was lying? (I guess not all support was aware of this) so he asked for proof and I took a screenshot of the promotion and gave it to him… Hours later no response after I posted the proof.

Has anyone else managed to get lucky in contacting them over this?

  • -1

I assume theres limited vouchers and there are millions of users, that quite explains why it is hard to get?

    • +3

but surely at least ONE actual Ozb user actually got one?

    • +2

Thing is if someone did get one you'd think we would hear about it? The only person that has posted proof was someone from menulog.
Also someone asked on a menulog post if anyone got one and people said "No".

The entire thing sounds like a hoax to draw in more traffic and it worked. Also Menulog hasn't even made an advertisement about the $50 vouchers which is very odd on their own facebook page. It's like they don't want us to know about it.

It is posted on their menulog campaign page tho?

  • Nothing here either. Just the $60 “free” delivery.

  • I tried to order just now and it wouldn't even give me the free delivery, even though my order was over $60. Tried in the app and on desktop, tried clicking the offer before ordering and nope, still wanted to charge for delivery right up until the confirm order page, so I backed out and we ordered elsewhere. Maybe there are other requirements for the offer?

    • Usually service fee doesn't count if it came to just over $60, nor does delivery fee

      • well it said orders over $60 and it was over $60 without the delivery fee (no service fee)

        • Hmm, my only other guess would be that it doesn't apply to restaurants where they use restaurant delivery? Only menulog delivery drivers?

          • @snoopydoop: yeah that could be the case I guess, it was a restaurant delivery. (my area only has restaurant deliveries)

I'm ready to watch this fiasco on A Current Affair lol

Companies are getting hopeless at running promotions these days.

    • +1

Because admin is run from the same countries where the call operators in the scammers office on the next floor get paid better and is seen as a career step up

  • +2

It now cites that if we missed out on getting a voucher, we can still use tbe free delivery promo. So the "party" (where nobody seems to win anything) is over now?

    • +3

      the party was VIP only

    • +1

      What a con.

    • +1

Which is very odd because they said those $50 vouchers was gonna run till 9PM on Saturday and it's already over? AKA "We never gave them out and want you to forget about them"

  • +2

I'm seeing a trend in companies that use apps to drive their business (not just Menulog): Advertise or email seemingly great deals to their users without any intention of honouring said deal. They likely have data that a certain percentage of users, once they've downloaded and opened the app, are likely to go ahead and make a purchase anyway. EG: 100,000 people open the app, if just 5% of them make a purchase, that equates to 5,000 x sales.

As another example of this, DiDi emailed me with a 'one free ride per week' offer, up to $20 value for each and every ride. all the way though to September 10 (for an account I never used). The fine print said no day or time restrictions. So I went and opened the app, and I did have one $20 voucher, but it was heavily restricted (use Monday to Wednesday during business hours only). But when I went to use it within that time, it only applied a 30% off voucher. There was no way to enter a code or select the $20 off. The email was a complete scam.

Companies are seeming more and more prepared to flout advertising rules.

The hardest part to accept—It is menulog, i mean Menulog, After so many wonderful codes for such a long time, we find such fake marketing gimmick . Just cant believe it

  • They had the nerve to send me another 2 emails (due to the fact I have 2 accounts) about the $50 vouchers again just after 11AM this morning… The (BEEP)ing nerve.
"Here is a reminder that we are (Not) giving away 1000s of $50 vouchers. All you have to do is open the app to be annoyed that we lied to you TWICE"
If I get another email about it again tomorrow I hope everyone that received the same email 3 times in a row sends them emails in return!

  • Didn't get a 50 code

I just received my 50 coupon buy says hurry up and use it but expirey was the 2nd
