Anyone Hit with Card Fraud after Using Temu?

One of my friends had mentioned they had a fraudulent transaction on their card after purchasing something from Temu recently. Their bank suggested it may be related to Temu.

I’ve done a couple orders & not had any issues myself (paid via Apple Pay), but wondered if anyone where has had or heard of similar?

Why would you use that shonky site? It's basically just Wish all over again. Just dropshipping from China. Might as well just buy direct from aliexpress/alibaba.

    • I do buy from Ali (and Banggood) too… cheap random shit that I don’t care if it takes months to arrive (though Temu is really quick) and don’t mind if it’s questionable quality.

    • No they are not wish.
      Wish is 10001% scam website.
      Temu is 100% legit

Temu actually has some pretty damn good stuff and the shipping is damn fast, all my Temu orders came within 5 business days.

I have used Temu a month ago.
    Have not had fraudulent transactions.

  • recently used temu to try a few things. a bit worried now. hopefully the goods get here and more importantly i don't see random charges.

I use Afterpay for as many things as I can. Used in conjunction with CryptoSpend and pay back with the luxury of choosing the better "currency", earlier or later. If Crypto >$30k I "take profits" by repaying earlier, lower, I use fiat.
And in context of security concerns, Afterpay acts as an extra layer of security.

If the bank suggested it may be related to Temu, then it sounds like it was an inexperienced operator at the bank who likely wouldn't have access to such data. Because as per Visa regulations (which I guess are the same at Mastercard), bank staff working in fraud, aren't allowed to release the name of compromised merchants when they receive breach lists.

      Or OP's pal doin' a fib ?

  • I like it.
    It's mine.
    The prices blow my mind.

I avoid it, because the adverts are so terrible

made 3 orders of the last 3 months. no issue.

never had an issue with aliexpress- 1500 orders over 13 years.

  • I've had five orders with Temu and had no issues so far. Same crap as Aliexpress but delivered in a week instead of months. The $30 minimum order is a bit of a down side though.

  • Why would you buy anything from temu?

Their tag line is literally "shop like a billionaire". As if that's not enough to tell you exactly what they're about.

I bought some jig heads, shower caps, some compression gloves (to sit under a wrist brace), nail scissors and some normal gloves (for cold weather). Everything cost less than 50% of the cheapest price on amazon for exactly the same item (let alone in store price). Sure none of that stuff is quality or high end; but why would you pay $8 instead of $3?

And it's literally dirt cheap chinese junk. the exact opposite to what a billionaire would be buying.

Exactly. They just buy expensive junk that implodes in the ocean.
