Updated: Manage to get their apps and perform a mock booking. Result looks interesting. See below

Updated 2. Actually booked this room via the app. Skeptical at first and double check with the hotel to ensure that the deals is corrected. Got response is Yes, this is legit. Only one thing is they fixed the exchange rate to 130 AUD from 100 USD. Room was 395$ after tax and fee. Breakfast for 4 worth 84$ + 130$ credit to be used at the restaurant for dinner. Pay for 181$/night at IC is not a bad deal

  • Any Reviews?

Can't find any except for fake ones on Google.

"Amazing membership, i dont want told the other one about this, i want its exclusive for me"

  • +1

The website is shit, doesn't present mobile view in a narrow desktop window.

  • None of those 'benefits' you can't get yourself as part of a package or just by asking. The spa credit, breakfast, late checkout are common packages available at any hotel. You will probably find that you can get it direct with the hotel for the same, or cheaper price. Not worth it.

One of them is a "welcome letter" LOL

  • See test booking above. Look too good to be true?

  • They question is how much do they charge to use their app?

Also I see in your test booking it is priced "before taxes and fees" so it would be interesting to see the final amount (one would assume at least 10% higher then the quoted rate to add on GST.

Looking at your test booking that rate isn't particularly amazing (it's okay but not a massive savings), as travel.mastercard.com (without a paid membership) will do the same room for $273 with no perks or $383 with the following perks:

    Exclusive benefits
    Guaranteed 2PM late check out
    Complimentary Breakfast for 2
$100 USD hotel Credit (not to be used in Spa or room service)
    Room upgrade subject to availability
    Complimentary wifi
Fresh fruit and snack in room on arrival

(Mastercard's benefits aren't quite as good as Amex's FHR which have 4pm guaranteed checkout, but they don't do the intercontinental in Melbourne so I couldn't compare it)

It looks like most of the benefits these people offer are "subject to availability" so don't expect to get your upgrade, early check in, late check out etc — I find most hotels these days (even with elite status) seem pretty stingy with any "subject to availability" perks, so really all you are guaranteed to get is a $100usd credit and breakfast.

  • I’ve got it as I hold a Mastercard world elite card.

Whenever I’ve used it it hasn’t been competitive against any other options. Only looked a few times though.

    • Have you book with this before? Any experience? and Can you name the most competitive platform from your experience?

      • As my message notes, I’ve looked at rates a few times.

Always booked elsewhere for a better deal $100 credit isn’t always that useful.

I also don’t stay at top end hotels that this is aimed at.

      • I just ran a test at the Melbourne intercontinental.
        Tonight 2 people king room.

$10 dearer than IHG direct, but has the add ons.
Trivago pulled up a room $50 cheaper.

Pullman on the park (2 nights per night)
        $327 on trivago
        Accor - $328 no extras
HoteLux - $384 plus their extras

So it looks like you may pick up some deals if you look around hard enough.

        • Yeah. I calculated toward the total expenses. It could be a deal if we just spend $384 for hotel include + breakfast + dinner (use credit) for a family of 2 adults and two kids

  • The apps is actually free with World Elite Master Card. Not sure if it is a bargain so Ill ask here first before posting. Yeah and I do realize that is before tax and charge, it could go even higher. Even with 100 USD (~150 AUD) credit, which can be used for dining at the hotel restaurant (Ive got confirmation in this, and breakfast (~40$ for family of two). This could make the rate down to ~160$/night. Am I missing anything?
