32" Television Ceiling Mount Recommendations

Currently have an old 32" TV ceiling mounted, but the mount has always felt a little 'flexible' and my wife is worried the TV will fall off the roof.

Not one to argue… (TV has been up there for years) I am looking at a new ceiling mount as we're looking at getting a replacement 32" smart TV.

Interested in suggestions for a new ceiling mount, what do you recommend, has worked for you, etc?

32" TVs are quite light nowadays. Literally any mount off Amazon that fits your requirement is fine.

The mount isn't the issue, but how the 4 screws are secured into the ceiling makes the difference.

You may also wish to consider something larger as 32" is considered quite small nowadays.

    • this,
Bauhn (Aldi) 32" weighs 3.8kg (with out stand)

  • 32 inch is pretty small to be mounted to the ceiling isn't it?

    • It's in a bedroom, so space is limited with wardrobes, ceiling fans, etc, and honestly placing a 65" in a bedroom is probably overkill. Although it might be awesome :-)

But as @Hybroid suggested, we're considering a larger screen size. The old 32" had a large border around the screen, and the new screens are literally border-less… so I figure we can likely get a 40 to 42" screen size for roughly the same dimensions as the old TV.

Why not get a smart projector and then project it on the ceiling? You will save on remounting cost and your wife worrying about the tv smashing you that one night.

I second the projector idea. It doesn't have to be projecting on the ceiling, surely you have enough free space on the wall. Add a floating shelf and you're good to go!

      • What model is that?

        • No name fake 1080p (480p I think?) one from eBay I bought for $150…

I have a Wanbo X1 Pro now which is slightly better…but still not 1080p 😂

Agreed with pros and cons. We'd only be able to display on the ceiling, trying to avoid the down lights and ceiling fan. Also, I suspect you'd need something 'smart' to drive the projector, whereas a TV has all that smarts built in.

        • Yes, mine have Android built in, but they are pretty crappy, so we use Google TV/chromecast dongles.
