Both of these are in the public domain and are freely available. Everything from H.G. Wells is available here

He should've got a better lawyer.

Missing out on a lot of royalties…

Thanks for the reminder. How can they legally profit off a dead author whose works are in the public domain anyway?

maybe ask Disney corp how they lobbied to get an extension to the original copyright legislation so they could retain control of Mickey Mouse

On top of that, not all great classic SciFi is created equal; have any of you read The Sleeper Awakes?

The main character awakes to see his dreams realized, and the future revealed to him in all its horrors and malformities

The main "horror" turns out to be "black troops are set on protesting civilians, and that's horrible because everyone knows they are dumb and violent. Also they are dressed in yellow and called the killer bees".

    WTF HG.

It's interesting insight into how a Victorian predicted the distant future, with crazy technologies guessed and not guessed, but it's not Wells's finest work…
