The theme of this photo contest is "Japanese Festivals."
After the dreary and depressing rainy season, summer is finally in full swing! Summer in Japan is often associated with festivals.
From processions of aristocrats dressed in elegant costumes, impressive portable shrines carried by men in happi coats and loincloths, wild festivals known for being dangerous, and unique festivals that will leave you laughing, there are a variety of unique festivals held throughout Japan.
If you've ever been to a festival in Japan, you've probably taken a pictures as well! Whether it be one of Japan's famous festivals, a local festival hidden away in the Japanese countryside, or just the smiling faces of children enjoying the stalls and other festivities, we'd love to see your photos!
