Event Cinema Recliners at Selected Locations

Anyone tried the recliners at Event cinemas?

Keen to give them a go this Saturday's Mission Impossible, but only the front rows have them, I wonder what the experience would be like?

Just go to Hoyts. I think all are recliners there.

Haven't been to Hoyts for a long time. Wow! They have really evolved, lots of new techs.

    • D-Box looks interesting, though no discounted tickets available. Found restricted eVouchers but not applicable to D-Box nor weekend after 2pm.

Looks like the only concession is to join VIP ($15/year) for 25% discount, assuming it will apply the full 25% on both tickets for weekend sessions.

Just got watch a 3 hour movie in them…

Good value for a massage chair.

        • Haha, it's pretty cool, a lot of space around, good value.

  • Unless they're Gold Class all the seats are crap, even the new electric recliner seats because they have no padding or lower back support.

      or lower back support.

      BYO if it bothers you.

They are all fine to me.

  • Event Cinemas George St Gold Class is pretty good. $25 tickets on commercial savings portals.

  • Sat in them for the new Avatar film. Was awesome! Especially because it was a really long film and went for the visual experience.
Brought in all the snacks from home to make up the price difference.

I only go to the cinemas once every few years, last film prior to Avatar was pokemon Pikachu detective, so it's worth the extra experience and money for me.

I can rarely see the value in going to the cinemas but if it's an experience you are going to enjoy and cherish you might aswell splurge a little. If you go to the cinema regularly I don't think you would be missing out on much in a regular chair.

  • try it for urself
