The 8l is also on sale for $299 (was $429), though comments made in the other thread said this has been as low as $160 before.

Isnt it part of Corelle group?
Instant brands was merged with the Corelle group. It's the US arm of Instant Brands that filed for chapter 11 last month which affects brands including Corelle, Snapware, CorningWare, Visions and Chicago Cutlery, but only the US entitites. It has branding outside of the US such as in Canada unaffected, however from what I understand the US arm manufactured the products.
When it was announced mid last month, Amazon started clearing a lot of the Instant brands stock (may have been a coincidence).
Seems to be the case. People keep saying 'its only the American branch' which is meant to be reassuring.

How does the 4L perform vs. 5.7L model? Aside from the size of course
The size affects the cooking quality - if the food is more spread out they cook more evenly vs when they overlap or are stacked.
Don’t buy this one, buy the bigger one.
This one is totally manual, fiddly to use.
How is an air fryer not manual?
I have the old one, it has digital screen and different modes like the bigger one. I have that one too.
This one has a mechanical dial that can’t be cancelled once started. Very old school.
But on the old school dial you can just turn the time to zero to make it stop.
@Richardc: I read a review that said you can’t because it’s mechanical.
