Charge Card Credit Limit?

Hi,

I would like to apply new card recently.

I am just wondering how much credit limit do I have to write when I apply new credit card?

I have a amex platinum card but I can't find credit limit because it is a charge card and only no preset spending limit.

Can anyone let me know what should I have to write?

Thanks.

Just put 0 for no limit 👍

    • Thanks for reply but when I add 'credit card' and put 0, they said limit number must exceed '0'.

      • The product you are applying for will have a min/max limit(read the t&c), pick any whole number between those values in $100 increments.

        • oh.. I got it. I will try it Thanks.

  • The credit card limit you should write on your application should be based primarily on your ability to pay back the credit and how much you intend to use. How on Earth are we to know this???

Go to your credit file online and find out the limit of your Amex card.

    • credit limit is 0 on my file. but if I have to put my amex card and must be number over '0', can I put only '100'?

  • If you have the platinum charge card you haven't been given a line of credit. Zero is the correct amount to be reported on your file and it isn't something you need to include when applying for a credit card (because they're treated as entirely separate products).

Edit: if you don't already have the card, you just need to nominate an amount that you believe you'll be spending per month. The max they allow without additional financials is 40-60k. They won't give you that immediately, you'll need to demonstrate you're good for it.

Start at 100K limit and the bank will adjust it down/up to your rating automatically.

  • A charge card IS NOT a credit card, as you cannot carry a balance it isn't assessed as a credit card in further applications.
