Are There Any 40 Inch HDMI 2.1 TV's That Aren't 2000+ Dollars?

I want to buy a tv to put on a desk to use with my PS5 and possibly a PC in the future. Are there any 40 inch TV's in the low 1000s price range that are equipped with HDMI 2.1 and a high refresh rate panel? There seems to be heaps of larger sized TVs in this price range but none that are 40 inches.

or….. would it be better to buy a 4K gaming monitor? if so do you have any recommendations?

cheers,

  • 40 inch is a pretty niche size usually used just for budget TVs. High refresh rate is also a niche feature.

As mentioned above, 40" is niche, which prices you outside the sweet spot; you may pay more than 55" or 65". Your best options are the LG 48" OLED or a 49" ultrawide monitor, neither of which is particularly cheap.

I suggest you look for a 42" TV, they are very affordable when on sale. I got my LG C2 42" OLED for $1030 delivered via this deal, for example:

If you want a "gaming monitor" at this size, expect to pay twice as much, they cost way more than TVs.

Unfortunately the supply of LG C2 seems to have dried up, so you may have to wait a while for sales of the LG C3 series.

Yeah OP this is definitely your best option for gaming.

friend of mine bought this TV about a year ago, and sold it last week for $200 more than what he paid for it

  • Most people go LG C1/C2/C3 or G2/G3 for 42in ;)
