  • I used to use thermapens at work, these are just as quick if a bit agricultural as far as design goes. Great for 14 bucks

  • thanks OP bought one for my steaks

  • +1

    Got one cheers OP.
I have a set with two prongs on cables and the unit is seperate meaning you can use inside the oven, BBQ etc and it's completely changed how I cook. Will be nice to have a smaller model like this.
Highly recommend picking up a thermometer if you've never had one.

  • Ia the tp18 worth it over the tp03?

  • +2

I'd suggest Inkbird version instead for $19

Inkbird Digital Meat Thermometer IHT-1P, Waterproof Instant Read Food Probe Thermometer with Backlight and Magnet for Cooking Kitchen BBQ Grill Smoker Deep Fry Candy Liquid

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Inkbird-Thermometer-Rechargeable-W…

    • What are the advantages of that one?

      • ink bird is rechargeable , but it’s micro usb so chances of finding the cable when needed might be slim as things move to usb c vs battery which had great shelf life and you probably have batteries for other things ….. takes AAA

        • Yeah just go to IKEA and grab some AAA rechargeables. No need to make sure your thermometer is charged before cooking dinner.

    • Thanks. I take micro USB over battery any day. Storing battery is a pain.

      • Most welcome 😁

      • I actually found a technique for this. I had a friend 3D print a dual dispenser. One side is AA the other AAA. It takes maybe 20 batteries each side. You can charge some Eneloops and feed them into the dispenser and then when you need a battery you pull one out the bottom and you know that you’re taking them out in the order that they’re charged. Slap the dead Eneloops into the charger then pop them in the top of the dispenser when done. I used to have loose batteries in a drawer and I’d never know if I’m grabbing a batter I charged recently or if that battery hasn’t been ever used more than once before haha

        • that's cool, makes it better
pretty sure I'd still prefer not having batteries at all
