TRS Confusion - The Good Guys Two Different ABN's

Hi guys, this is potentially gonna be a very short thread but just wanna ask and find out.

I've placed two orders from TGG and they were shipped from two different locations. Looking at the invoices it looks like different locations actually have different ABNs…and one order is less than $300 (I was going to have both orders claimed in one go as > $300).

Does this mean I either can't claim the smaller order, or I'll have to order something else from that smaller order location to boost it to over $300?

Or different ABNs don't matter as they're all TGG?

Thanks guys

    You must

    • spend at least AUD 300, (including Goods and Services Tax (GST), in total from a supplier with the same Australian Business Number (ABN)

Just try it - they may not check the ABN. If they do just say you thought they were the same business. No big deal.

Claim tax deduction you mean? Why can't you claim an expense that is less than $300? I do it all the time, most of my expenses are less than $300 actually.

If you ordered them both on the same order, and paid once — you should have an invoice that shows both items being paid once to a single ABN, right? Are you looking at the paperwork that came with the shipment, as that might be internal paperwork.

    • It's only what's on the actual tax invoice(s) that matters.

AFAIK different stores have different ABN/are franchised, I may be wrong tho 😂
Sometimes an item will be shipped from one store and another item from another

TGG stores are franchises and hence the different ABN.
So you cant claim with those invoices. Its annoying that their website is not upfront about this.

You can't claim the smaller total. If you want to make a claim you'll have to order something to total $300 or more from the same store with the same ABN.

This also applies to Chemist Warehouse stores. Different store, different ABN.
So, you can't claim TRS with different ABNs combined.

You should've just forged the invoices to be the same ABN.
