Bluetooth Speaker WITHOUT Auto Power off Sound

Hi,
I have a bit of a sleep problem and use listen to music on a bluetooth speaker to fall asleep.
However, at the end of the music the speaker eventually powers down, making a BIG sound…that wakes me up.
it is a JBLGO speaker.

I can't use an app or similar to try and disable the power off sound, because of multi reasons.

What I want is a speaker that doesn't have a power off sound, or, a simple method of turning off the power off sound.

I really do not want a complicated 'workaround' because I am spending too much time with convoluted stuff like that.

Any recommendations please?

Thank you
AR

Hi mate - I use a UE MegaBoom 3 and with the App, if you go to the settings it allows you turn off "speaker sounds" via a simple toggle: Allow speaker tones indicating pairing, power on, power off, maximum volume, and minimum volume

    • Your language in the OP is ambiguous - are you saying you can't use an app in general, or you currently can't use an app? Anyway, the BOOM App is the accompanying app for these speakers. I have never used the disable Speaker Sounds option before, but I imagine it works

  • AirPods.

  • Hi @ThithLord, you are correct, I cannot use an APP to control the speaker.

So it needs to be using a wire, or bluetooth connection.

However, the bluetooth speakers I have tried all make a big noise on power on / off and they have an auto off to save power.

Just need one without the power off noise.
    It wakes my parents up.

UE Boom 3 has settings, in the app, to turn off the sound when powering on or off.

      • @DiscountForThee,
Thank you, but I am looking for a speaker that does not require an app to control or modify it.

Just a speaker that turns off without a noise.

        Cheers,

Does anyone in your family have access to a phone? Once the setting is turned off, you no longer need that phone or app. You can continue to use the Bluetooth speaker with whatever way you were originally intending

Does it need to be Bluetooth?

    • Can you not use the app ever? Like, I assume you can amend the settings off the BT Speaker and then it stays like that. You're gonna have to elaborate further cos you're confusing me

      • @ThithLord,

I can not use an APP.

I want a speaker that does no have power on/off noise.

How are you playing music via bluetooth if you can’t use an app?

            @coxjon: I give up.

          • @coxjon: For many Bluetooth speakers, it is possible to connect them to a device without using an app. Such as pairing it to a mobile phone or other electronic device.
I know it is possible buy Bluetooth speakers without the need for an app.

Get a bluetooth clock radio with a sleep timer.

Does it make a noise if you turn it off at the wall? You could probably get one of those smartplugs and then use the app to get it to turn off at a certain time. You won't be using your speaker app then.

My IKEA Eneby bluetooth speaker does not have a noise when it powers off. It shuts off automatically after about 20 mins when not in use. It is wired, but you can buy a battery pack for it.

I also use it next to my bed at night to play some music to help me fall asleep.

  • Just connect your phone by cable, not bluetooth.

Dying to know your multiple reasons for the app problem though!!!

    • I'm guessing its a locked down work phone

Many have asked previously, all have failed
    See the following reddit thread
The JBL Go speaker (any generation) does not require an app, nor is it compatible with the JBL Portable app that would be used by other JBL speakers that might allow for disabling the sound.

Others have suggested UE boom speakers that have the option to disable on/off sounds with the Ultimate Ears app. I have a megaboom 3, great speaker. A comparable option to the JBL Go might be the wonderboom (speaker sounds can be disabled for this one on the app). Once disabled via app the setting needn't be modified again.

Everyone else in this thread was quick to assume incompetence on the OPs part for an inability to use an app with varying levels of condescension, when the reality is no such app exists for the speaker described.

Best of luck with the speaker hunt OP.
