Got mine from one of the previous deals and it works great.
Just be aware that it's removing part of the fabric, so the garment will ultimately be thinner after using this.

    • +7

Yes but it’s only removing the part that’s already become dobby balls. 😀

      • +3

Still makes a garment much colder (did it to my old trackpants and they're now warm weather only pants lol)

        • +9

But how much fluff did it have? You are only meant to remove the fluff balls on the outside, not the shave the inside flat.

        • +7

Sounds like you went ham on those pants!

        • +1

If that’s the case they’re might be well worn by that stage or you’re using too aggressive of a machine wash cycle. I’ve found by chucking nice materials in a gentle cycle and air drying means less pilling of the fabric and I’ll use my fabric shaver less. Also don’t press too hard when using it because that will damage the fibres that are fine and then cause them to ball up more.

          Might help!!

      • Nah it removes fabric too

      • whats dobbyballs ??

      • anko from Kmart can also do that too cheaper

        • Anko? Cheap, but quick becomes a landfill item.

the garment will ultimately be thinner after using this.

Maybe I should buy one for my belly.

Bugger. Just bought 4 days ago for $17

    • +19

      Why would you need four?

      • I was gonna ask the same question lol

    • +2

Works out to be $4.25 each. What a steal!

      • +1

A steal would be a five finger discount.

    • Sorry typo. 4 days ago I bought 3. 2 for my dad and one for me. Each cost $17

    • Same

  • Been looking for one of these, thanks OP

    • +1

I've decided like two dozen times now that I'd prefer to have my $14 than one of these. Finally sprung and got a manual one for like 80c off Temu, and it works perfectly.

      • +2

personally, I would not touch temu with a 10 foot pole. but glad if you managed to snag a deal that works for you

        • Spent over $300 there on various things. Got a copy of the Olight Marauder for $70, T85 soldering iron for $50, Cricut mats a fifth of the local price, cheap filament, $15 digital camera for my kid, metric ton of <$1 knick knacks, copy of the xiaomi screwdriver set. All free shipping and turned up in 7 days.

Quality matches the price paid for the most part, but that goes both ways.

Those were the pre-discount prices, I wasn't keeping track

What rail rider said, it works, I'm glad I bought it however it doesn't just remove those little balls. My sheets are noticeably thinner after a few shaves. That being said without the product I wouldn't be using them so still a win, just think there's room for a V.2 or something else that does an even better job,

    • +1

Yup, confirming and as per its name, it's for ANY fabric, not just your old hoodies.

  • +3

Hot tip - these are actually great for trying to tidy up furniture (fabric couches or chairs for example) that the cat has used as a scratching post. Won't be good as new of course, but makes it far less obvious.

  • Will this work for testicular grooming?

    • +9

      yes, hair and skin

      • +10

Just be warned that the scrotum will be noticeably thinner and will be warm weather only

        • Scrotum skin will thin to the point that it won't be able to support the load and your happy school will eventually reach your knees.

    • Yes, until it doesn't.

  • anyone know if there are replacement blade for these? I've got mine from the previous deal and I can't image the blades lasting too long.

    • +1

I don't think it's something to worry about (unless you actually experience the blades degrading) and I don't think Philips would bother to provide replacement parts for a minor, $15 device.

    • Look no further; let me introduce to you the Xiaomi Mijia Lint Remover

      Not the best price though

    • You could try popping over to Daiso and grabbing a cheap fabric shaver ($3) and take the blade from it. But that being said, you would also have another fabric shaver…

  • dont need one but got one anyway./ thank you OP

  • Is this any good ?

  • These works great!! I bought a bunch of Nike Jordan hoodies and they are awful (btw) quality (little bits all over the washing machine, house, shirt underneath it, and needed one of these and fixed it, took a few goes but works well.

  • I honestly don't have any clothes, sheets or anything else I can think of that has any pilling. How does it occur and why don't I get any?

    • You probably haven’t worn the same piece of clothing over and over again enough.
I have a lot of cotton “at home” clothing like hoodies and track pants and shorts that all ended up pilling (I wear my favourites a lot lol)

      • Nah, there is difference in material/quality as well.

I have two at home hoodies that I had for years, pretty much rotate between the two during winter. They are both fine. But a lighter Uniqlo one that haven't been worn nearly as much, pilling like crazy.

  • best versatile clothing material that doesnt lintify ?

    • From non-linty I can think of tarp.
