Sonos Arc Vs Samsung Q990c

Hey Guys,
I am planning to buy a soundbar for my room that goes well with my Samsung 77 S90c

I have the q990c around `~1100 with the full setup
I am also thinking of the Sonos Arc with Sub for about 2k

Any recommendations.?

When I heard the q990c in a showroom I felt the voice was muffled however not sure if that is because of the environment

I have a ps5 but mostly interested in streaming and a bit of gaming
I would like to keep the budget at less than 2k

  • Sonos arc 100%
I have a sonos arc and a couple sonos ones and the sound is awesome. For music, movies and TV shows it does great with all of them.
I’ve had a Samsung and Sony sound bar previously and they did not come close to the sonos

  • Sonos 100%, I have a sammy, I no longer want a sammy

  • Very very happy with my q990c. Previously had a big theatre setup with German made Canton speakers, and a massive 12" powered sub. Got sick of the ugliness and the big receiver to run it all etc, not to mention I am sure the q990c is more energy efficient as it switches off quickly when not in use. Anyway, VERY happy overall, and considering the Sonos is nearly twice the price, it would want to be OBVIOUSLY and noticeably much better, and I don't think it is, according to youtube reviews. Love having a basically invisible system too, the sub is behind a lounge and the soundbar is hidden under the tv cabinet, we just roll it out if watching a good movie and want the Atmos or cranking the music, the rest of the time its invisible and does not ruin the look of the lounge room. Surround speakers easy to hide away too with a little bit of thought.

    • Better system to get rid of the receiver mess is the Sonos amp, can power your passive speakers and sub in the front, and use wireless Sonos for the rears

  • I went for sonos for the ecosystem, being able stream music from room to room is a blessing.

Not really audiophile, so sonos is good enough for me.

  • Thanks All!.. I went with the q990c as the TV was Samsung and reviews so far seems to be good for the price especially if the TV is also a Samsung..
Still yet to fully test it out..
