[MEL] Looking for Coles MasterChef Cookware Items

Hi all, I still have 100 MasterChef Cookware credits that I haven't redeemed because the Coles around me have been always out of stock.

Has anyone seen stock of any items in Coles around the northern suburbs of Melbourne? Willing to travel around so that they don't go to waste.

    Try online
Change the store and if it's in stock at that store it will be available to order click and collect.

    • Thanks for this info. I'm also looking for a 26cm Frypan, so hopefully can find it in stock somewhere in SA.

Entire range is showing as out of stock nationally
        26cm pans OOS for weeks.
Might be some roasting trays and utensils floating around

        • D'oh! Thanks for the heads up. I'll give the 1800 number a call to see if any stores are showing stock, although highly doubt it.

Finally got to 100 points only for all my locals to completely have no stock left if anything sigh

    • I'd go for the low-valued items first, as getting them is better than nothing.

Roasting trays is all my local has had for weeks.

As a single person I rarely get enough points for anything anyway. I think I grabbed a knife and some glasses but normally you can't accrue points fast enough when you're up against people shopping for a family. I'd prefer to get more, and better, Flybuys offers instead of these types of promos.

    • Look out for the low priced bonus point items..way cheaper than $20/per credit.

Oh I just made a thread on this.

The stupid $20 for two utensils is worth no where near $20.

You save up for bigger items, because they are worth more (in terms of actual value to credits) and then its end of competition, no stock, expire your credit balance and then run the scam again in a few months,

    • All the non stick cookware are also low value junk you can get from various places very cheap.

  • Another disgruntled shopper here…

We finally got to 77 pts (26cm f/pan @70 pts) on 8th July and every single attempt to find stock failed from this day on..

Tried Click & Collect at 3 stores, all cancelled (was in stock online at the time, earlier the same day).

Visited 5 stores in our area, nothing. One store (via phone call) had a single Apron left & wasn't worth the drive or risk, we have enough Aprons.

I wish we didn't bother getting excited and chasing the points. Several phone calls to stores & support got nowhere.

    lesson learnt, not happy

  • got a formal reply from Coles

Thank you for contacting us about MasterChef Cookware availability. Unfortunately, due to popular demand, we are now out of stock. We have been overwhelmed by the popularity of our Masterchef Cookware campaign at Coles, with customer redemption accounting for all of the available cookware much faster than expected. As this was a ‘while stocks last’ campaign we unfortunately have exhausted all stock and won’t be able to assist further. We're sorry we couldn't be more helpful on this occasion. However, your feedback has been shared with the relevant teams for their info and consideration.

    • "While stocks last" might not get them off the hook if legally challenged. If there are enough outstanding credits from shoppers who want to claim, Coles/FB can be sued for deceptive advertising if it can be shown that they ought to have known the amount of cookware available for redemption were manifestly inadequate for the duration of the points earn campaign - especially towards the end of the campaign. Whether a consumer body can be bothered to do this, is another matter. Individual shoppers certainly are powerless here.

      • They would easily be able to know. With technology and tracking, they would easily know how many points were earned vs how many redeemed etc.

When I was enquiring on the 8th July a couple of store staff said, "they strangely stopped getting new items in 2 days ago". Via in store and phone queries.

Store staff were surprised stock stopped coming in when lots of people were just getting enough to redeem.

Seemed very fishy when I kept getting that candid info.

  • doubt you'll find any, stock ran out a month ago at least. i noticed they stopped the promotion about 3 weeks ago, a few of the Coles i went to stop registering the points accumulated on the receipt.

  • Agree with all the above, absolutely ridiculous to advertise promotions when no stock available.
Should be legally sued for this
