Video Doorbell with SD Slot?

Hi,

I'm not a technological genius. I am trying to find a good quality (wireless) doorbell cam, that can record to an SD card. I'd rather not want pay for a subscription to a cloud server.
Also, one that has a rechargeable battery.

I'm trying to find something for $150,- or less, seeing as I'm renting and the landlord will only allow me to install it with screws, if I leave it behind when I move out.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thank you

  • Just bought uefy last week. It has a wireless door chime that plugs in , inside the home and has the SD card. This way if anyone steals the door cam you still have the SD card.
Works ok on 4G but complaining about echo from the door knocker.
Bunnings cost me about $170 battery life meant to be 3 months.
    Cheap $100 ones I heard 2 weeks they're flat

  • Per @jizmo, slightly over budget otherwise with your desired feature set: Eufy

    • I think they legit meant uefy it’s a brand of doorbell on amazon that looks like they got no shame in piggybacking off eufy name

    • That's it.2k ones at jb are about $100 more

    $162
    2K
PoE or power supply - continuous recording (unlike the others)
    microSD or record to NVR

  • and the landlord will only allow me to install it with screws

    is the landlord cute?

  • I first tried the laser smart home doorbell from BigW. It was rubbish, took so long to connect to it through my app that the visitors had well and truly left by the time it connected (if it connected at all). Was charging it than using it, battery life was poor. Now have the eufy with the mini repeater wireless chime that takes SD card $179 @ Bunnings. Installed a couple of months ago and still has 2/3 battery life. Connection was a breeze, just need to make sure you only have the 2.4 ghz channel on your modem when you set it up. You can turn back on 5ghz once set up is completed. Spend the extra $ if you can

  • i think its kind of stupid to get sd for doorbell. they would just ripoff doorbell with sd card, and you have nothing. while getting cloud service you can access that critical video even if they steal your doorbell.

    • +3

For the Eufy, SD slot is located in the indoor repeater.

  • Thanks everyone. I decided to go with a EUFY.

Going to install next week and see how I go with it.
