        Makes sense but I buy all the same black socks so I don't have to pair them when I wash, takes away from that a but as I now need to always find a left and a right one

      For sports socks, they have additional padding in various parts which means they need to identify left and right foot socks as the padding will not line up properly if you get the feet wrong. Quite common for sports socks.

    Only in Australia, socks 11-14 size (China import), after the first wash they shrink to 11-12 size so they don't know that there are people with bigger feet?
    I need to buy my socks from overseas!

        I know in some countries in EU (maybe EU's rule) manufacturers and so retailers' garments must have a tag which displays the material used AND the percentage.
        You can see in these Bonds socks they use stellar BS words but they don't tell the percentage of each material nor they show the tag.

      The first wash or the first dry? I used to air dry my socks and underwear, fearing they would shrink or stretch in the dryer. But then I realised I was spending hours hanging them up, waiting for dry, then using lint roller on every side of the fabric. (profanity) that, I take my chances in the dryer from now on. So a sock might last seven washes instead of nine, who cares.

        It sounds like at your home you only wash but no dry, or maybe you do the other way around, just dry but no wash?

        I tumble dry 100% of washing. Stuff that says "do not tumble dry", I just put on the lower temperature setting. Never noticed shrinking or lower life of items, and I've been doing it for 3 years since I gained the courage to defy the tag gods.

          Save money on socks and spend it on electricity and buying clothes twice as often, makes sense on OzBargain. I used to do the same when I was young and lazy, but my fav Tshirts weren't lasting very long. For socks buy a circular hanger, takes less then 1 minute to hang a week of socks.

    I bought these socks and they drive me nuts because I bought multiple pairs to eliminate the need to look so hard for the matching sock. Imagine finding out they're left and rights.

    I got my order but the quality of socks isn't good. Either they are fake or the stock is very old. I can see some threads already loose on some of the pairs and also the white colour isn't that bright and doesn't feel like new, looks as if some dust has gathered on it.

    Anyone else have the same issue?
