  • The heads for these are annoyingly just as expensive or more so than adult ones.

    • Deals come up, eg $6.74 for 2 pack recently. Also $12 for 4 pack.

    • Yes, slightly smaller. But at around 5yo they can start using the adult heads, since the size is almost the same. My oldest kid switched to the adult heads and didn't notice any difference.

      • Ditto, easier to manage!

Wow they really broke the bank with that study didn't they. 52 children!!

Worth noting that the Magic timer app does not require a special toothbrush to use…

  • This is a fairly standard price. Popular at $12.

Note that the batteries are pretty rubbish in these basic models, they are only advertised to last up to 20 minutes, you'll find after a few months to a year it will be something like 5-10 minutes. So you'll need to charge it every day to be safe basically. I don't think there is a lithium battery kids alternative though, so just something you need to be aware of so you don't get caught out.

  • Our child had one of these. The battery didn't last very long, and you wouldn't say it was NiMH.

I would recommend buying a high-end toothbrush when it's on special (like an 7000/8000/9000 handle), which will last longer and has a decent RPM. You can run those on a lower speed while a child is small, and they are compatible with the "stages heads".

    • im pretty sure these types of toothbrush are all 0 RPM. they dont actually spin a full revolution just vibrates back and forth…

      • Yeah, it's oscillations. My bad.
