  • Cheapest all time?

      According to 3xCamel the Lexar Play 1TB cards have been $70 in the past but they have questionable performance and a only a 5 year warranty vs. lifetime for TeamGroup.

      • +3

        Based on the reviews made around the time of the $70 Lexar Play deal, it was a batch of slow and fake 64gb cards from a third-party seller with a hacked controller to make them appear to be 1tb to the operating system

        • I got one of those. Fun fact: Amazon has no way of reporting a seller of counterfeits.

          • @umexcuseme: You just have to go through the 'product received different to ordered' or whatever it is and explain the whole thing to amazon support. You'll get a refund and everything but with the way they manage inventory, counterfeits will slip in.

            • @ATangk: Yeah I did get a refund but without a way of reporting a seller who's selling counterfeits, many other people who don't have the technical knowledge to check if its a fake will get ripped off.

            • @ATangk: Yeah, Amazon considers many products that are sent into their warehouse from third party sellers to be fungible with their own, and put them in the same bins. They may not even know which third party poisoned the bin, and it might not be the one you bought from

      • lifetime warranty for TeamGroup

        what would qualify as a defect within a "lifetime" of a product,
        whose purpose is to store your files (eg. memories) ?

        • +2

          They would do what happened to George Costanza, and try to replicate your special memories from memory.

            @cute as duck: Haha….
            …that's similar to drawing pictures
            when the Internet died (in South Park episode).

  • Paying an extra $6.50 for almost double the performance, why not.

  • Thanks OP. Grabbed two of the faster cards for some Steam Decks.
