Hurry. Deal ends 12 Jul 2023!?

    • +7

Maybe they meant 12 July 2024 since that's how long delivery will take

  • +6

Samsung Store takes forever to deliver I believe…

    • +8

Indeed - or they don't deliver and you have to lodge a dispute with your credit card provider which is found in your favour by the next business day (you even receive a SMS from Samsung confirming the order cancellation has been processed). Nearly four months pass and the item you ordered that was cancelled/disputed is delivered and Samsung refuse to take it back, even after escalating it…

  • pairs well with VR headset

Built in Galaxy Note 7 for turbo blast mode!

    • But you can control with BT S-pen.
And remember the Note moto - "Size matters" (she agrees ;)

Samsung are junk. Ours blew up multiple times under warranty. Then we bought a Bosch, it’s been brilliant.

    • I didn't know Bosch made phones.

  • how does this compare to ikea?

    • +3

      It doesn't, it's a cooker.

      • But it will cook meatballs like IKEA.

  • You gave me a laugh

  • MagSafe compatible?

Keep in mind, you need a separate power line from your fuse box as they draw a lot of electricity. Can’t just plug it into a power point and replace your old electric cooktop

    • My induction cooktop works fine running 2 cookers at once. I replaced it from an old electric cooktop/oven using the existing cable from the fuse box.

Maybe if I was running all 4 there could be an issue.

      • Yes, I believe some induction cooktops can run 1-2 burners without issue. However, running 3-4 will cause heating issues. Even with 1-2 on, it can see a reduction in power and therefore heat pushed into the burners

    • If you don't have an existing high current supply to the oven, budget $500-$1000 for an electrician, and also be prepared to lose an above bench power point.

We just installed a Smeg cooktop and it was rated at 32A. Sure, it might only draw 32A if all elements are set to boost, but it has to be installed with appropriate cabling for this scenario

You wont be installing any more 32a circuits in QLD unless you also get DNSP active device management so it can be turned off in peaks by the grid operator, probably when you'd be using it.

Samsung made the washing machine that was responsible for hundreds of house fires in Australia too.

Bought this. Works great. So much better than the old ceramic one i had. Delivery to Newcastle was only on a Wednesday so took a week and a half.

    • did you use a gas cooktop before? Do you need to rewire as people here said, that it requires a standalone 32A circuit? I have a 60cm ceramic cooktop currently, not sure it requires a new rewiring and a new circuit breaker

I replaced my electric ceramic cooktop with an induction model about 12 months ago.

When the electrician came to install it, he confirmed that the existing wiring from the fusebox was sufficient for 25 amps*, but that the cooktop could theoretically draw 30 amps* if all 4 elements were used simultaneously.

He asked me to choose either upgrading the entire cable (at considerable expense) or accepting that I can use a maximum of 3 of the 4 elements at once. I never use any more than 2 elements at a time, so I chose the second option. He fitted a 25 amp* fuse to the switchboard so if I tried to use all 4 elements by mistake, the fuse would pop and prevent the wiring from overloading and starting a fire.

        • I don't remember the actual numbers he used. The above numbers are probably wrong, but the point remains.
        • thanks for that.

        • That's uncompliant mate - against the AS/NZS.

The new one comes with 5 wires and my old cooktop had the pre 2004 3 wires. The new cooktop can be hooked up directly. It has 2 live wires, 2 n wires and 1 earth. The 2 live and 2 n wires are just linked to the one. I was going to do it myself but got a sparky who just put on a junction box for the wires connected to the old. No re wiring

  • I have this and I think it's been fantastic. The scale on the bottom is far more useful than my previous induction cooktop (which I broke tbh).
