        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/782459

The promo is over but if you had made an account sometime in June and entered this promo, they add a promo code to your account ranging from 10-50% depending how lucky you were.

        • Was up to 60% this time, though I never saw anyone get that much!

          • @Romen: yeah I remember seeing a comment of someone on ozbargain being lucky and got one of the TVs for a crazy discount. I know they run the promo every year, I fortunately/unfortunately only got 30% off

            • @Magicmannn: This last time I got 40% and 30%… the previous time was 5% and 5% hahaha

              • @Romen: 40% is pretty good, did you end up using it? i'm on the fence for a TV with my 30% but you know, $$$$$

                • @Magicmannn: Not yet.. looking at a dishwasher and/or washer dryer combo lol

I had the samsung 49" a few months back. Returned it as it had terrible ghosting and very visable scan lines. Worse monitor I've ever had. So be cautious

    • This is an LG. This is worth. I had a samsung as well before and has all sorts of problems with it not detecting displayport 3 times out of 5. I switched to lg and it's been buttery smooth

Searching online and people are still having issues with scan lines on this model. Might be better than the samsung, but its not perfect

        • Maybe have a look in stores l

Samung is known to dump their bad stock in Australia just like Sony has been doing for decades.

      • That explains it

  • Agreed, always had issues with Samsung monitors and televisions but no such issues with LG. They tend to support their products better in the long run as well with firmware

  • These monitors are excellent for Minesweeper…

What about pong. It would take a week to get across the screen, but will the curve make the ball spin.

      • What about pong.

        pong stinks…

    • This minesweeper seems to cap out at 99 x 99 squares

Will have to play multiple windows to maximise the sweep

  • $50 off when you sign up for an LG account as well by the looks.

      Still too expensive :)

  • Can't seem to find a postcode where this is available :(

EDIT - A Brisbane Postcode! Seems available in Melbourne

    VA Panel

    • +1

yeh looks like this "sale" is because its a VA panel, and there are OLED versions of these curved widescreens coming in…. at least looks so overseas…

      • Not IPS, which has better viewing angles and no ghosting.

  • I bought a 32 inch Samsung G7 monitor a while back. Had constant ghosting issues, flickering issues, and scan lines. Took it for repair and Samsung adjusted the picture to a point that made it look absolutely terrible. I said, "I can't game like this", and the response was, "but this fixes the issues you had"

Ended up getting an Alienware instead. Which was much better until I got an OLED TV and now I can't look at that terrible monitor any more.

Long story short, if it's for gaming. Get an OLED. Even if you need to get a smaller monitor (just sit closer). If it's for productivity, than that's another thing altogether. But personally I find Samsung monitors to be subpar at everything.

    • Which OLED did you end up going with?

      • When it comes to OLED, LG shoud be the one as they jace been setting up OLED standads

      • Ended up getting an LG C2. Love it. Can't use anything else for gaming. Especially dark games. You don't realise how bad backlight bleed is on VN, TN, and IPS until you use an OLED. After that, every dark scene looks bright on anything else.

noice, i ended up getting the alienware 34" oled but i'm still on the fence about getting a tv

  • Damn: OOS 😔

    • Doesnt have local dimming otherwise like a G9

Someone at reddit compared to the 1st Gen G9

  • Back in stock?? Seems to let me add to cart. Maybe depends on your area. I'm near Geelong.

    • Oh cheers! Yep - back in stock for me, too.
