Sony TV X90K - Bottom Bezel Looks Like a Piece Is Missing

I was hoping someone had a Sony X90K at home. I got the 65 inch version from Sony (ebay) as a "seconds" model.
All looks and works fine so far. However, at the bottom bezel, it looks to me a small infrared cover is missing.
Does anybody have that TV and can share a photo with me?

Here is the bottom centre bezel with the missing bezel piece:

Thanks for your help!

    Yep, TV holes drool

Find a store with this model in stock and compare. If this is the same tv, it looks like it's supposed to have a cover here; https://youtu.be/B5JMplmasiQ?t=148

    • Thank you! This is the 2022 (K) model, so not too likely to find in store. The 2023 (L) model X90L has a Sony emblem in the middle.

Thanks for the link, too. I found that video, too. They show the bezel corners without the middle piece…

Mine is X90J. It has the same two holes left and right and the sony logo above in the middle

Yeah, it's normal. My A90J is the same. Those sexy erotic holes are the microphones, I believe.

  • Thanks very much for your feedback loropy9 and Morien! I appreciate that. Looked like a dark plastic cover was missing.

  • How long did it take them to deliver?
I’ve got a dud DHL reference which seems to be the norm for them

    • DHL took 4 business days plus weekend.
The unit is definitely a "seconds", not a damaged box. My box looked very used, lacked a manual. TV bezel has small scratches. Stands looked new, remote used.
Otherwise no complaints. I paid $1,169 shipped from recent ebay deal (still running?).

  • In the 13 months of ownership, today was the first time I even noticed the holes only because I was looking for them :)

    unrelated.
But got kind of excited when it warned me that the image may contain erotic material and asked me to prove my age.

    • Apologies for the age check notification. I must have made a mistake.

  • Thank you all for your help. I received an A90J photo showing the mic holes:

Compared to the A90J with a flat bezel with 2 mic holes, the X90K seems to provide a little plastic cover opening (2 mm offset distance into the frame) which I believe I am missing.

In case an X90K enthusiast/owner reads this, would you mind checking and letting me know, please?

Thanks and apologies for the age check warning - my mistake.

  • FYI: Using a webcam and Zoom

I learned about the Bravia cam and almost ordered it. As a test before ordering the cam, I installed Google Meet and Zoom, hoping I could at least do a voice call. But the TV refuses to use its built-in mic without a cam connected, it says something about "Close app that uses mic". Could not find a solution despite some users reporting this. One link suggested internal mic is blocked from being used for voice in certain regions.

    Solution:
I had previously plugged in my Logitech C920 cam and it was not recognised in the system as a USB-connected device. I tried again after installing these apps and it is now recognised within the apps and works perfectly. You can even choose the built-in mic or the cam's mic. Built-in works better in my case.

    Perhaps this helps someone else.
