Cheapest way to ship books - UK to Australia

I need to ship a 14kg box of 29 comic books from the UK to Australia. Total value is about 147 GBP (approx. $230 AUD).

The book seller presently does not do international shipping, so I have to sort out a solution. I don't need them urgently so happy to wait for a slow surface mail option if it is cheap.

The approximate dimensions of the books when packed is 35cm X 35cm X 25cm (height, width, depth).

Does anyone know a decent but bargain service to get these books shipped?

Comments

  • Approx $250 with shipping aggregator www.shippingeasy.com

  • how much are they on Booko?

    • Significantly more than what the seller is offering them for. They are Herge books (tintin etc) about 29 of them. 24 are hardback, the other 5 are softback.

The seller provided the following details regarding weight and dimensions:

For the 24 hardback books, which we separate into 4 parcels of 6 books and the rough weight per parcel is 3.1kg's. The combined weight for Jo, Zette & Jocko and Quick & Fluke is 1.3kg's, so the total combined weight would be around 13.7kg's.

The dimensions of a single hardcover is 22.6cm X 30cm and the depth of the thickest book is 1.15cm.

  • A company called VOOVit can ship the following size box for 65 GBP:

    580 X 430mm X 385mm (External)
    565mm X 425mm X 360mm (Internal)
    Maximum load weight: 30kgs

However, would prefer to find a cheaper option if possible.
