You already posted a different game as next week's freebie (why create a new post?): https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/790353

      Two reasons:

      • for internet points
      • the initial post has been posted quite early and normally mods would say create a new post for visibility
      • Adding a new deal to a pre-existing deal (that is 20+ hours old, or even half a day old) is problematic, we don't want people (especially an associated user) to post a deal, wait for it to accrue votes / hit the front page and then add something else to it that normally wouldn't get that many votes, doing so misrepresents the deal votes.

Update Dec 1 2023. This was an extra note sent to Dealbot, who asks why we don't let users add new deals into a much older one:

Most users expect to see a steady stream of deals being posted in chronological order, and not new ones being silently added to a pre-existing one. The users who are subscribed to the <deal poster> or Epic Game Store page, or have search alerts set up, also will not receive notifications about a deal being edited to include a new one.

Notifications are only fired when a new deal gets posted.

We also don't want people to 'monopolise' the deal votes and block others from posting by editing a new deal to their existing post, this is a loophole / exploit in an attempt push up the votes when the deal for the original deal is featured in the email newsletters or highlighted on the front page.

There are a few members who will be, for some reason (out of spite), unhappy about users posting more deals that hit frontpage but I would ask those few to think more about the community benefiting from their content, rather than them getting ahead of you in terms of deal vote averages, or post counts. That's not what Ozbargain is about.

Except that's exactly what has happened with these Epic Games freebies for months now. It's far more confusing to have separate deals IMHO, but I do understand the logic, I just wish it were consistent.

Reasonably fun game, particularly if sitting on the couch/watching tv - I enjoyed how the tiles interact with each other. Never actually beat the final, final boss though before losing interest/being distracted with other games.

If so, it's not for the first time. I picked up Loop Hero the last time it was free on EGS.

    • Great game once you get into it.
