Brisbane Supplier of Gaming PCs

Wishing there was a Brisbane supplier of gaming PCs similar to Enigma, Techfast etc, which would make it cheaper and quicker for us Qlders. Wonder why Umart, Computer Alliance etc don't start offering similar deals.

EDIT: Forgot to mention the crucial point - "with pricing on par with Enigma, Techfast"

Computer alliance definitely do pre builds with or without windows installed. Warranty was a bit of a pain to facilitate when I made the initial enquiry so I fixed it myself at own cost (ssd failure, seemed like a known issue from my googling on reddit). I still buy them for my office/workshop every 2-3 year cycle, have got basic office builds to middle tier photoshop/premiere/gaming builds. Typical build time has always been less than a week.

I did get one from umart years ago but I had a bad experience with the dungeon that is the 8mp one and never went back.

I've been buying from Umart for close to 20 years, but they're pre-built units aren't as good on pricing. I'll probably just do what I've always done and buy parts from them and build it myself.

One of these days I’ll bother to collect everything through eBay with the 20% off CA sales or amazon etc … oh who am I kidding i might as well go prebuilt haha

Haven’t self built a full rig for about 15 years now 🥲

CA does custom builds but their gross profit margin is too high to be competitive (used to work there many moons ago) plus they're making so much cash they don't really care !

Used to spend five figures every year with CA but when I gave them feedback about a delivery issue they cancelled a significant order just to spite me. So I moved all of my business elsewhere. Which I'm sure is what they wanted - making too much money to care.

    • What is the typical profit margin for PC parts alone ?

      eg. 6700xt @ $479 / A770 @ $349, what would their cost price be?

A whole lot less than you think.

Its a high volume, low margin industry.

Most (if not all) big discounts you see are supported by distributors/manufacturers.

If it's parts like GPUs, CPUs it would be a couple dollars but they usually get rebates on the back end, there's a bit of margin in motherboards and PSU and quite a bit in cases and surge protection, antivirus etc
