Looking for Flush End Nail Cutter for Hardwood Floor

Hey all

Looking at getting a flush end nail cutter

Kind of a follow on from below post. There are quite a lot of nail which I wasn't able to pull out of the floor and snapped while trying to pull out.

I'm looking for something similar to below but the strength to cut floor staples. Couldn't find anything at Bunnings or total tools

Nail punch to push below the level then wood putty on top before sealing.

    • Was just hoping to get a bit more off the nail before nail punching. That was plan B, just nail punching it more

        What would that achieve?

I pulled those out with a pair of vicegrips. Just put a block of wood under it for leverage and so you dont damage the floor.

  • I use the snips you have to remove the staples, the trick is when you grip the staple roll the snips 90 degrees the opposite way, not direction of the curve. If you lever it the way of the curve it adds pressure to the blade and cuts the staple without removing it.

  • I actually wanna protect my original floors too, so is vinylizing the way?

  • I’ve always just used vice grips/locking pliers to pull out anything that’s got some meat left on it. Otherwise, punch them in.
