$284.05 at Centrecom using coupon "SSDay" at checkout - https://www.centrecom.com.au/samsung-ssd-870-4tb-qvo-sata-ii…

  • How exactly do u use these as normal hard drives for your laptop ?

    • Get something like this, if you want to use it as an external drive or as Broke mentions below for inside your device
      https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005691551583.html?spm=a2…

      • Thank you I want to use it as an external drive

If your laptop has a 2.5" SATA slot, then you can use it to replace your existing hard drive or SSD. Most modern thin laptops won't have this slot as it's relatively large. They use an NVME slot instead, which are just as cheap as this size SSD these days.

If your laptop does have the 2.5" slot, you can use a SATA USB adapter to clone your current drive onto a new SSD betore putting it in, or simply put the new SSD in and do a fresh OS install off a USB boot drive.

A lot cheaper during prime day, when I remembered a 2TB one went for $100 with those “2 for 10%” additional coupons. But this one’s definitely on the cheaper end I guess

But if you want a 4TB one, who cares what a 2TB costs?

      • +5

Just gives a bit of indication for the $/TB - things have been whack lately

        • +1

not directly relevant given highest capacity drives always carry a premium

its the mid tier vs bottom tier where the difference matters

          i.e. 2 x 1tb for $220 vs 1 x 2tb for $199

4TB was cheaper as well, even the EVO version.

    • Sure it was the QVO? Camels says the lowest price it ever got to was $135 and I don't see any deals here on OB lower than that for Prime day

      • Yea it was one of those “2 for 10% off” + “additional 10% off” coupon I recall

  • +3

The price is quite high for a QVO version, a significantly better 4TB 870 EVO was $284 during the prime day.
