I checked all my balls, none of them are hairy.
Tennis balls are a bit hairy but no need to shave.
All other balls (basketballs, soccer balls) are made of rubber so they are not hairy.

This is definately a lot of blades, but to buy this many blades froms Woolworths is about $165, so this deal is almost 50% off.

    • but the 48 blades won't earn you any interest sitting in your cupboard…

how many would you use in a year ?

      • +5

thats some impressive interest rate + compounding you have where you're going to double your money to break even over the time-line of 48 blades..

    • They are $20 for an 8 pack at Big W everyday. So 25% off
But since it would take me 10 years to use them all, not a good deal

  • Might want to include postage cost in title.

  • Hmmmm, I'd be suspicous of these as I bought a bulk pack of the same on eBAY and they looked the part but were worse than the old 'real gillette' blade I had been using for 3 weeks.
I sent a sample to Gillette in Melbourne and they confirmed they were fake. I would have thought COTD would sell the real deal but there are a lot of good fakes out there so maybe they are not aware either.

  • Do you need to do anything special to store these? I've found that they dull over time if stored at home so I have it in my head not to buy razors in bulk, but it maybe just me. Anyone else have this experience?

You could try storing them in a Pyramid.

on the forum thread 'What is the tightest thing you do on a regular basis', ozb user 'realfamilyman' said:

"Also keep a disposable razor in an old jar with some vegetable oil so the blades last for months (I bought a pack of 20 before our second son was born. I'm still using the same pack - and he's 12)."

  • no doubt you will get brazil's finest blades

    • Just what you need to do A Brazilian.

    Good for a Mens Hostel………

  • Hey guys just wondering, should I get an electric shaver or non-electric one. Are the electric ones better? Any pros any cons?

    • +1

"should I get an electric shaver"

      No

    • To get a good shave with an electric shaver, you tend to have to get the more expensive ones, and even then you won't get as good a shave as you will with a manual razor like these.

I wouldn't discount them entirely though - I bought a Phillips Norelco from Amazon (an ozbargain from a few months ago) and it's brilliant for quick shaves on the go when I have no time. But it's no replacement for a real shave.

Of course, much also depends on your skin. I tend to get bumps and rashes if I use crappy electric razors.

  • an electric shaver is a quick fix when you are in a hurry, you will not get a better shave than with a blade,

also ive been thinking that if i buy these blades and match them to this technique, i should be sweet for blades until i die !!

      until laser shaving technology improves…

      • My concerns about laser shaves..
        1. will hair ever grow back after a laser shave?
        2. will it harm my balls (say eye balls, etc)?
