Christmas present for the wife sorted. Nice.

She might get you a doghouse in return.

I found it easier to use Sephora's Find my shade tool to convert my current foundation's shade to ysl's.

    • Normally use a light warm toned Nars foundation yet it recced me a medium cool toned shade… Hmm

Thank you for posting! hopefully was able to still redeem, just taking a guess at my shade :)

  • Gift sorted

  • Thanks OP and littleburrito :-)

  • 5ml sample

  • +6

    I don't think people realized how small it's. It's a sample 5 ml .

    • +4

20 submissions should get you a combined 100 ml 🤪

      • You reckon they will fall for that? Worth to try, I guess.

    • +1

These are kind of handy to put in makeup bag for travel, or handbag if going out after work or whatever - providing it’s the right shade.

I often keep the test samples from the beauty counter for this purpose, so I don’t have to travel with a whole bottle of foundation. Estée Lauder for example does free samples to help you get the right shade/product.

    • You don't need much at all so 5ml is plenty and would last a number of applications however if it comes in a sachet then may not be easy to keep hygienic.

Thanks OP, but not cruelty free.

  • Got one thanks

Thanks Op, I Brodened this deal… Got 50 shades of grey

  • 👍🏻 OP

  • I’m sure 1000 would have been claimed by now.

    • Maybe they have 10,000 🤪

  • Is the sample in a bottle or a satchel?

    • +1

Most likely satchel. It's only 5ml.

      • +1

The Giorgio Armani 5ml came in a tube. The delivery took a month though.

        • Yeah, I got that one after using their website to test colour and it was far too light, and I’m pretty fair skinned. It was probably about 3-4 wears in one tube depending on how much you put on.

    • Hopefully, it's this one

      • That'll be nice

    • sachet?

I ordered MN7 .. no idea if the right colour for the babe

Take a look at the ones she's using and find a match here

  • not sure if they will send them unless an YSL beauty club member. I joined just in case, as it is in the T&C

The last image is a good comparison chart

  • (5927 clicks) Its probably gone now

    • +1

Still told me my sample was on its way

  • +4

how a 5ml sample is worth $19 is beyond me.

    • If you compare it with cheaper brands, it actually is worth it because you need a small quantity to get good coverage, also it contains high-quality ingredients and pigments.

    • The 25ml bottle is $95 so …. maths ;)

      • Worth and priced are two different things :P

        • It's worth it when you consider that the samples allow you to confirm that you have selected the right shade before spending up big on the full-size bottle.

  • Thank you

  • Would like to claim one for my wife, but have no idea what the “Shade” is.

    • Ask her.

  • If you want help finding your shade, MECCA have a service online to match you with your usual foundation, or alternatively, if you know what you were in the old formula there is a conversion chart here: https://www.mecca.com.au/yves-saint-laurent/all-hours-founda…

Unfortunately, YSL is not a cruelty-free brand.

I think cosmetics should not be tested on animals; animals testing for the sake of beauty is not ok in my books.

    • +3

Yea, those poor mice and rats, we should test stuff on humans FIRST!

      • +1

rats want to look pretty too.

      • Wouldn't go that far. At least start testing on influencers before moving on to sentient lifeforms.

      • +2

Plenty of cosmetic companies manage to make great products without animal testing.

    • After years and years of many tests on rats, have they become smarter somehow?

    • What should they test onn

    • -2

      Don't use makeup then 🙄

    • That has nothing to do with whether this is a good deal or not. Neg.

  • Link is returning 404 if you didn't already know

  • We have received a take down request from YSL as this is a targeted Facebook campaign, and those who clicked through OzBargain instead of the Facebook ads are seen as unqualified leads and violation of T&C. YSL has already disabled the claim form, and your requests might get cancelled.

Please reply with comment if you have received the sample, otherwise we'll move it to the forums as it would be an "unobtainable deal".
