  Not sure about the small one but the larger one is so handy. Perfect for instant noodles on the couch, the camping chair, etc. The handle is the game changer.

  What makes this better than a large mug (genuine question)? I'd feel a lot more comfortable microwaving ceramic than plastic. Plus, plastic can be a PITA the clean when it gets oily.

    I think because it is sealed at the top by a lid with an "air release steam vent" - this I believe helps to prevent 'boiling over'. The handle stays cool too.
