As a space nerd, this is the obvious stand out for me from the StarBuy Afterpay sale, which unfortunately didn't make the cut for Watch Nerd's post.

What Starbuy loves: "This historically relevant timepiece is a must for every collector. The polished finish on the bezel, pushers and the crown and the case and with a polished and matte bracelet. The Special edition backplate finishes the watch off perfectly."

Be warned that it is on the bigger side, but this version has been praised as being not as big as the previous model.

Worth mentioning this also comes with two straps, a metal bracelet and a leather NATO style strap. Leather strap is quick release as you would expect, but the metal bracelet strap also features a quick release mechanism that will see you swapping back and forth within about a minute. An unexpected favourite feature of the watch which makes swapping between metal and leather feasible and not a huge F around.

        its been the case that the cheapest auto movement, the 7750 costs more than $549… for the movement itself!

      Yeah… but it's a monster of a Quartz at that. +/-10 seconds a YEAR, a certified Swiss Chronometer is -4 to +6 a DAY. This movement is honestly more for a pro than a con imo.

    swatch had 38mm chronos like 25yrs ago… not 262hz though

      the pins or lugs on the stainless are different to the version with just the leather or nato strap …. you can’t upgrade to stainless later,

        Sounds a bit odd, must be different models.

        Always best to buy the bracelet version and buy some other straps later.. unless you never want bracelet.

    Wow, this is so tempting. I've wanted a Lunar Pilot for a while but felt the larger variant would be too large. I've still got a few hours to talk myself into (or out of) it.

          I also think you should get it. This price is ridiculous, I paid $699 for the snoopy variant a few weeks ago and I thought that was a steal.

            @matictac: Well, I bought one after all. What swayed me is the realisation it’s going to be THE most accurate time piece I’ll be able to afford anytime soon. It will take a place in my collection as the apex of accuracy, not just a cool-looking watch.

          I believe it is called Afterpay Day because in theory it gets advertised on the Afterpay website and app. It isn't a condition of purchase that you have to use Afterpay. In fact it might be better for the retailer to accept other forms of payment with lower transaction fees.

      This, of course.

      High frequency 262khz quartz lets the seconds hand move at 16 times per second, granting a smooth, mechanical watch-like seconds sweep.

      PRX quartz iirc is a cheap ETA quartz that should move 1 time per second.

        Have been planning on buying the green 35mm prx quartz for a while but ended up buying this instead for less money. Movement and dial seems substantially better on the lunar pilot (although big)

    I've never been interested in Bulova but it looks like a good deal. Pretty big watch though (lug-lug under 48mm usually good personally).

    Another cheap option for those looking for a space watch but not a plastic piece of junk swatch.

    I saw this on a facebook ad last night. Quartz and only 50m WR is a bit of a downer for me. Would have preferred Solar powered at the very least. But it is at a great price compared to the Snoopy version.

      Mine arrived today, lovely watch for the price. It is certainly large for a 'mini'. Even makes my Seiko turtle look small! With that said it just looks about wearable on my 6.5in wrist. Wouldn't even try to wear the larger 45mm version.
